Page 2: Factsheet v90!1!8mw Uk Us

Built on experience∤ This wind turbine is the North American variant of the

V90-1.8 MW, which was introduced in Europe in 2004, with over 1,000 units now in operation world wide.

∤ Based on the proven V80 variable speed technology in operation around the globe since 2001.

∤ Designed to maximize energy capture for medium wind regimes (IEC IIA) to further improve upon the V80 reputation as a reliable performer

Features include∤ 90-meter rotor based on 44 meter blade design tech-

nology developed for the Vestas V90-3.0 MW turbines.∤ New 60 Hz generator is a 6-pole design which utilizes

a lower gearing ratio.∤ Primary bed frame structure made from casting to

optimize load transfer to tower, and increase overall frame stiffness.

∤ Improved main bearing housing design for increased structural stiffness.

∤ Standard LVRT (Low Voltage Ride Thru) capability to provide continuous operation through grid faults.

∤ Complete variable speed capability with VCUS™ (Vestas Converter Unity System) technology.

∤ Powered service platform as standard.
