LEARNING OBJECTIVES 1. Define clinical clues helpful in identifying vascular disease. 2. Discuss the premature development of vascular disorders in

the younger population. 3. Review clinical presentation for vascular diseases, including

appropriate use of the vascular lab. 4. Describe options for treating difficult SFA occlusions. 5. Evaluate the effectiveness of drug-eluting technologies in

treating infrainguinal disease.6. Illustrate comprehensive management strategies for patients

with critical limb ischemia and tissue loss. 7. Describe the evaluation and treatment of superficial vein

thrombosis, including the diagnosis, clinical characteristics, risk factors, medical treatment and surgical treatment.

8. Develop a team approach to caring for patients presenting with pulmonary embolism.

9. Identify new oral anticoagulants reducing risk for DVT and PE. 10. Describe the impact on the human body when the jugular vein

doesn’t drain properly. 11. Explain the improper draining of the jugular vein as it relates to

multiple sclerosis. 12. Evaluate the current role of carotid endarterectomy in the

treatment of carotid disease.13. Report the current status of carotid stenting in the treatment

of carotid disease.

TUITION FEESThe fee for this program is $90. The tuition is waived for residents and medical students. Tuition fee includes the cost of instruction, continental breakfast, break refreshments, lunch and social event.
