All planned events must be scheduled through the church office to ensure there are no scheduling
conflicts.
Ponder the following: "How much of God do we
miss in a day's time?" If we have eyes to see, we'll find
God and his great truths hidden in the most basic
elements of life, Mark 8:18. Yet, they do not lie on the
surface. God often hides them as He has hidden
diamonds and gold. Only a persistent pursuit will
unearth God and His breathtaking life embedded within
both the digging and discovery.
As dawn breaks through the night, God is saying,
"I bring light out of darkness." In the establishment of
creation, from nothingness God expressed His love and
brought light and life. No matter how tumultuous or dark
the journey grows, joy comes in the morning. There are
great treasures to discover within the darkness too, Isaiah
45:3. There is a reason after the storm comes the
rainbow. God places it there Himself to say, "This is my
promise to you." A storm may drive you from all sense
of normalcy, but if you have eyes to see God, you will
see God's rainbows of promise. A new day dawns, the
blue bird sings, a new adventure awaits, and God brings
you new joy. Trust Him!

TREASURER'S REPORT Last Sunday, which was the Sunday before Labor Day, we had many empty seats in church. Hopefully now that most vacations are over, our attendance will improve and along with it, our tithes and offerings. So, let's all feel good and get ready for church next Sunday and bring some "money".

Volunteers Needed As part of our advertising for the Fall Festival
and for our church, we will be participating in
the Lenoir City First Friday Night event on
October 5th. We participated on Friday,
September 7th. It was extremely hot, and we
had a small crowd. On October 5th, hopefully it
will have cooled off a little. We are going to
give away Fall Festival flyers, Church flyers,
and a cookie. So we need a few people to bake
cookies, put in ziploc bags (one per bag), labeled
if they contain nuts. They need to be delivered
to the church by noon on Thursday, October
4th. We also need a few volunteers to help
transport a table and a few chairs on that Friday
to downtown Lenoir City and to help hand out
the cookies and flyers to those attending the
event. So plan to join us!
Please contact Dorothy Morton at (865)850-
6187 or [email protected] if you can help.

Baby Bundles Update We are now collecting for our 4th quarter Baby Bundle for
Cherokee Health Systems, and quite a few items have already
been donated. If you would like to help, please sign up for
specific items on the list in the Narthex or make a monetary
donation in the Baby Bottle.
During and after the Ladies Retreat, we received several
donations specifically for the Baby Bundles, so some of our
ladies have shopped and we have most everything for our 3rd
quarter Baby Bundle! Thanks for your generous donations.
We have received two letters of thank you from mothers-to-be
who have each received a baby bundle. If you want to read
the notes, they will be posted on a bulletin board in the
Narthex.
Need Volunteers Building and Grounds Committee is looking for some
new members. The responsibilities are listed in the Job
Description found here. Password is faith. Please
prayerfully consider whether you could serve on this
important committee for our church. If you do want to
join this committee, contact Larry Boyd at
[email protected] or (865) 966-6559.

Kroger Community Rewards The Kroger Community Rewards program is helping us
raise money for the CPWM. It is an easy way to support
our church and the CPWM. Simply enroll your Kroger
Card in the program, following the link below. https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards
One misconception is that if you sign up for the
Community Rewards Program, you won't get your fuel
points. This is NOT true! You will be able to do both!
Donate Your Eyeglasses!! Do you have a few pair of old eyeglasses just sitting in a
drawer, taking up space? Why don't you donate them at
church. We have a collection box in the Narthex. When
the box is full, we donate those to the Farragut Lions
Club. These glasses are taken to a recycle center and
then the recycled glasses are distributed to people in
need in low and middle income communities where they
will have the greatest impact. If you have any questions,
please contact Frances Poore at (865) 599-0083 or
Ladies Lunch Bunch will meet at Steak and Shake this week at 11:30 am
FISH Pantry Collections
We are continuing to collect toiletries for the
West Knox Food Pantry (FISH) on an
ongoing basis. We have a container in the
Narthex to collect these and will take them
every month or so to the pantry when it is
our turn to deliver for FISH.
Flowers for the Altar
If you would like to provide flowers for the
altar in memory or in honor of someone,
please contact the office at (865) 988-8522
to let us know.

Gideons Card Ministry The Gideons International, founded in 1899
in Wisconsin, is an association of Christian
business and professional men and their
wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus
through sharing personally and by providing
Bibles and New Testaments. While they are
known worldwide for their work with hotels,
they predominately share Scriptures in
schools and colleges, prisons and jails,
hospitals, and medical offices.
The Gideons have a card ministry that we
would like to share with our church. You
may donate Bibles in someone's name
through this ministry. They have a wide
range of cards including sympathy, get well,
thank you, in memory, pastor appreciation,
birthday, recognition, and
our CPWM. It's that easy. See details on a handout at
church or at this link:

encouragement. We have placed a card rack
on the wall across from the large Sunday
School classroom at the west entrance to our
church. To donate Bibles to honor someone
special, all you have to do is choose a card,
personalize the card by filling out the blanks,
add your message and send the card. To
donate Bibles, just complete the orange
donation envelope inside the card and mail it
to The Gideons International address on the
front of the envelope.
Each $5 donation places a Bible in the hands
of a person who needs one anywhere around
the world.
FFCPC's Constant Contact Updates are communications to the congregation of the church to inform them of upcoming ministry, mission, and worship opportunities. If you have information that you want to communicate to the church, send an email with the information to [email protected]
