Passenger of bus jailed in Giddings
A welfare check on a passenger of a Greyhound bus turned into an arrest for Public Intoxication here last Friday afternoon.
Giddings police offi cers responded to a call from a woman at the 290 Travel Plaza convenience store west of town at 4:47 p.m. in reference to a suspi-cious male.
The bus had stopped for a break, and a black male passenger appeared to be hallucinating on some type of drug. The driver of the bus had also called to report the incident.
Curtis Perry, 54, was ar-rested for Public Intoxica-tion and transported to the Lee County Jail, where he was booked in without incident.

The Lee County offi ce of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host its next Natural Re-source Webinars on Thurs-day, June 6. The Webinars serve as an educational tool for natural resource managers to learn about a variety of range-related topics. The topic will be “Improved Pasture Weed and Brush Management.” One hour credit in the area of IPM will be offered to Private Applicator Li-cense holders.
The management of in-vasive weeds and brush in improved pastures is critical to maintain pro-duction for either hay or cattle grazing. To receive the maximum benefi t of weed and brush manage-ment, it is necessary to consider many factors such as timing of applica-tion, application methods, products used, and target weed and brush species.
The Webinars will con-tinue each fi rst Thursday of the month (except for July 11), through Decem-ber.
