The co-located China Sourcing Fairs: Solar & Energy-saving Products, Christmas & Seasonal Products, Gifts & Premiums, Home Products, Medical & Healthcare Products and Baby and Children’s Products were held successfully on October 19-22, 2012 at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo. These four-day events attracted 15,566 quality international buyers from 118 countries and regions. Some of the top brands that participated were invited to Private Sourcing Events.

The impressive sourcing upsurge signifies steady growth in overseas trade due to the opportunities in both established and emerging markets. As of September of 2012, the global economy had shown improvements driven by economic recoveries in U.S. and Europe.

The fairs delivered high-quality and innovative “Lifestyle” products under one roof. At the Future Living gallery, environment-friendly products were displayed, capturing buyers’ interests.

Exhibitions, said, "Tens of thousands of buyers make the fairs a regular stop on their trade show schedule as they recognize the sourcing efficiency gained by meeting quality suppliers with quality products, many of whom do not exhibit at other shows in the region.”

Visitors were pleased with the quality of the event and said that they keep coming back because they are able to find the products that they need. One of the buyers Joy Tara commented: “I went to this Fair to find Future Living products. I think the exhibitors here are reasonable and approachable. I am looking to build long-term business relationships with 10 to 15 suppliers”.

Beyond the exhibition, Global Sources organized free conference programs to help international buyers source more effectively. The sessions discussed the supply chain market and featured a broad range of hot topics from sourcing strategies to emerging market trends.

The co-located China Sourcing Fairs: Solar & Energy-saving Products, Gifts & Premiums, Christmas & Seasonal Products, Baby and Children’s Products , Medical & Healthcare Products and Home Products, were held successfully on October 19-22, 2012 at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo. These four-day events gathered 1,260 exhibitors and showcased 1,900 booths.

The China Sourcing Fair featured Hong Kong’s first and only specialized trade shows for medical & health care products, and Christmas & seasonal products. Together with the co-located shows, Solar & Energy Saving Products, Gifts & Premiums, Baby & Children's Products, and Home products, a total of 1,900 booths were sold, representing 1, 260 exhibitors.

The theme for this season's events was eco-friendly products and designs for better living. A new feature, Future Living Gallery, showcased quality and innovative products produced by suppliers who demonstrate awareness of environmental and social issues.

An onsite survey was conducted to determine exhibitors’ idea of “Future Lifestyle”. 58.4% of interviewees said that it is mainly about environmental friendliness; 38.5% believed high-quality and innovation are central themes of future living while 57.4% thought that it reflects home product development trends.

Takako Tsang from Vogue (HK) Ltd said, “We market our products mainly through trade shows where we can meet face-to-face with buyers. We have been participating at the China Sourcing Fair twice a year for five years now. We keep coming back because our sales

improve after every show. Our products meet requirements of buyers who are sourcing eco-friendly products. I think Future Lifestyle products should have the earmarks of making our life pleasant and convenient. We will continue to attend this show. We wish Global Sources continued success.”

The Spring 2013 show in Hong Kong will again focus on “Lifestyle” to keep up with the latest sourcing demands and help exhibitors generate more sales leads.

Value-added services to enhance buyer and supplier efficiency

To help buyers and exhibitors meet and do business more effectively, Global Sources organized a series of special on-site activities at the fairs. The Color Trend Area helps both suppliers and buyers to discover color forecasts for various products. At the Private Sourcing Events, suppliers were able to meet one-on-one with top international buyers. Well-known sourcing teams from Amazon.com, Direct Sourcing Group, Falabella, First Act, Lightinthebox, OfficeMax and Restaurant Services, Inc. participated.

Meanwhile, the Online Sourcing Fairs boosted buyers’ sourcing productivity by enabling them to view products and engage with exhibitors before, during and after the physical shows. It extended suppliers' exhibition investment and provided them with more business opportunities.
