Pinter’s Gardens & Pumpkins is
Decorah’s newest attraction! It’s THE
place to be this fall. Not only do they
have a pumpkin patch, corn maze, junior
go carts, farm animals and giant jumping
pillow, but they also have tons of kids
activities lined up—like face painting,
story time, pumpkin carving, and even a
special haunted corn maze for Halloween.

Seed Savers’ Fall Harvest Festival
is Oct 8. Come out for hayrides,
fresh apple cider (pressed on site!)
soup cook-off, pumpkin carving,

ArtHaus in downtown Decorah has a full
fall schedule of classes for all ages, “tinys”
on up to adults—dance, sign language,
poetry slam, photography, ornament
workshop, drawing, ballet….go to

list! There are also fantastic one-night
events like concerts and poetry slams for
those in town only for a short time.
On a crisp cool morning, there’s
nothing like a cup of delicious hot
cocoa from Café Mapie on Winnebago
Street. They’re also a great place to
catch up with friends, utilize free

The Decorah Fish
Hatchery is a beautiful
place to visit in the fall.
Grab a seat on a park
bench and watch the fish
swim at Siewer Springs.

Make a trip to Peake Orchards mid
Sept through mid Nov on Saturday or
Sundays for fresh apples. Sundays are
extra special—enjoy hay wagon rides
and caramel apple sundaes!

The Winneshiek County Farmers Market is open through
October. You’ll find fresh and local produce, flowers &
plants, baked goods, crafts and more! Open Wed 3-6pm
or Sat 8-11am.

for a farm tour. They have a great indoor
display describing the history of the
dairy industry, an advanced milking

Take a pedal-tour of the color
on the Trout Run Trail or Prairie
Farmer Trail. Nearly 30 miles of
paved trails suite any level of
biker. OR be a little bit more
adventurous and try the 18-mile
circuit of mountain biking
