in Tennessee!

It’s that time of year again—the time when we at Laurel give back to the community just a small amount of the blessings that the Lord has given us. Through our Christmas Basket Program, we are able to meet our mission statement, making “an eternal, positive difference in the lives of all who come our way and all to whom God sends us.” Our Angel Tree will be in the foyer the Sunday, November 20th. Blue and pink angels will be for families in the community whom God has sent our way. These gifts need to be wrapped, with angel attached, and returned to church by Wednesday, Dec. 14th. The red angels will be for Hope Central children and will need to be returned by Wednesday, Dec. 7th, unwrapped and with angel attached. We will also be collecting toiletries and cleaning supplies for the Ronald McDonald house. Packed baskets will be picked up and/or delivered Wednesday, December 21st. Thank you in advance for your generous hearts and your eagerness to help with this minis-try. Without the Laurel church family, Christmas would very likely be just another day for these families. The Nativity pageant is a Knoxville tradition spanning the 46 years. It features live animals and a cast of hundreds of performers who act out the Christmas story, accompanied by a “heavenly host” and narrators. It is a beautiful way to make Christ’s birth truly come alive this season, especially for children.

The one-hour performance begins in darkness, so please be sure to arrive early to avoid having to find seats in the dark. All performanc-es are family-friendly! Because it is free to everyone, there are no tick-ets and it is open seating. For the Sunday and Monday performances, part of Section N is reserved for the deaf and hearing impaired. The Nativity Pageant is presented by volunteers from all over the Knox-ville. Questions? Contact Nativity Pageant Board Member Kelly Pryor.
