Week of December 24, 2017 ‘Tis the Season for Gratitude and Sharing our Blessings!
FROM THE ELDERS: OUTLOOK 2018 The Lord has brought great blessings to our fellowship this past year. Looking back, great opportunities made available by our Lord have been realized through your faith and service. Looking inward, improvements in our worship center and growth within our families took place. Looking outward, we served friends and communities from near and far. Laurel is truly a generous and giving church.
Looking at the present, you are no doubt already planning and bracing for the busy days to come. Each year, December brings an abundance of opportunities to give. As your attention turns to the people and events associated with this holiday time, we ask you to stop for a moment and consider the ways you al-ready support our ministries and ways that you can offer support. Our church cannot function without your healthy and personal involvement. It is the Lord’s desire to have a healthy growing family of believers. Take a moment to assess your spiritual health. Are you growing in spirit and in faith? Take time to pray for everything.
Take a look at the numbers that represent our financial giving for meeting our 2017 budget. As shown in the Contribution Report there is a current deficit of $77,000. Take a look around you, to see ways you can make a difference; do it now, as we were reminded a couple of weeks ago. If you need help in any way, our elders and our staff stand ready to assist. We are reminded that giving in any form is a joy. Laurel has always been generous and joyful in every aspect of service and giving. We hope you have a very blessed Christmas holiday.
Looking ahead, the best is yet to come!

Inclement Weather Policy
We believe it is in the
best interest of eve-
ryone for us to have
a policy that when
snow and ice make
travel in Knoxville hazardous, we
will cancel both Sunday morning
services and evening H2H groups.
Instead, we will have one service at
4:00 p.m. Travel decisions should
be made by each family and
whether a few people or a few
hundred people are able to come
we will worship together then. Al-
so, we will do our best to have an
appropriate message on Facebook,
Twitter, on our website, and WATE
TV6 telling about cancellations.
