May we be renewed and reminded of the love of Christ in scripture―

1 Corinthians 13 Love

“ I may be able to speak the angels, but if I have no

love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a

clanging bell. I may have the gift of inspired preach-

ing; I may have all knowledge and understand all

secrets; I may have all the faith needed to move

mountains―but if I have no love, I am nothing. I

have, and even give up my body to be burned―but

if I have no love, this does me no good. Love is pa-

tient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or

proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;

love does not keep a record of wrong; love is not

happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love

never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience

never fail. Love is eternal. There are inspired mes-

sages, but they are temporary; there are gifts of

speaking in strange tongues, but they will cease;

there is knowledge, but it will pass. For our gifts of

knowledge and of inspired messages are only par-

tial; but when what is perfect comes, then what is

partial will disappear. When I was a child, my

speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a

child; now that I am a man, I have no more use for

childish ways. What we see now is like a dim image

in a mirror; then it will e complete―as complete as

God’s knowledge of me. Meanwhile these three

remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of

these is love.”

What’s Going On FBC • On April 15th, about 60 kids came to the annual

Easter Egg hunt. The kids enjoyed searching for eggs and candies. Every kid got enough candy. We thank everybody who donated candies. We also thank Sheila Ahlbrand for her hard work. We also thank the youth who volunteered as Sheila’s assistants and the van drivers who drop and pick the kids.

• On April 22nd, 6 women and 3 young ladies went to America Baptist Women (ABW) confer-ence in Iowa. This was the first time that we brought 3 young ladies to participate in AB Girls. The theme for the conference was “Love Never Gives Up.” We hope more women and young ladies will participate and bring new idea for the future.

• On April 30th, 11:00am - 12:00pm, we will have recycling, trash and organic training in gym. We welcome our members to attend this activity. This activity will help us to understand how to take care of God’s earth. A meal served on or-ganic plates will be provided.

• Our mission team is still in Dawei Myiek. They are working with the teacher assistants there for a summer program. All the kids and young adult are excited to learn English and experience our mission team. We uploaded pictures and video in our website and Facebook. We thank everybody who support our mission. We hope to have this program in future year.

• FBC women from both English language service and Karen service are going to have cake baking training on May 20 at 2:00pm. This activity will improve the understanding and relationships between women and cultures strengthen co-operation in our congregation.
