Cattlemen and Friends:

It is with much excitement that I welcome you to the 7th annual Family Traditions sale hosted

by Sunset View Farms of Auburn, Kentucky, Saturday, April 23rd. It is always refreshing to see the

commitment of a Simmental breeder who is family oriented, not only with his own family, but also

with their cow herd. You will find that unique trait within Ronnie Creek and his entire crew; along

with the guest consignors to this year’s sale.

Year after year we comment on the diverse offering that is available for breeders to sort through,

but this year I believe that the SVF crew has gone above and beyond that. This year a lucky breeder

will be able to purchase the exceptional SimAngus donor Sazerac. Also, several daughters sell plus

some exciting embryos as well. The sale includes the “best set” of yearling heifers, exciting fall show

prospects, cow-calf pairs, and bred females ready to take their place in someone’s herd. To top it all

off, there are several strong embryo lots.

The influence of the family tradition has always been a major part of the philosophy at SVF. One

additional statement is to remember to add genetics on not what they can do for you today, but

what they can do for you tomorrow and the future of your program. Females like Sheza Star, Ebony

Antoinette, Queen Sazerac, Shania, Daisy Mae, Reddy or Not, and Above and Beyond have became

matriarchs. Who could forget the influences of Star Power, Star Player, Steel Force, In Dew Time and

Trademark, all stemming back to these foundation building females. The lineage here at SVF speaks

for itself.

April is a beautiful time in Kentucky, and there couldn’t be a better time to look at cattle in the

Bluegrass. Please plan on coming early to visit with the Sunset View family plus the great group of

guest consignors. Call Ronnie or Bryan if any questions regarding the sale offering. If there

is any way we can be of assistance prior to the sale or on sale day please feel free

to contact ASA Field Rep Jeremie Ruble, Drew Hatmaker or myself at

anytime. Be there as the tradition continues Saturday,

April 23th in Auburn, Kentucky!

Sunset View Farm & Tucker Cattle Co.Here is one of the top Meyer 734 SimAngus cows in existence. This

Meyer daughter was champion at the first SimAngus/ Sim Solution show at the North American. After her show career this SimAngus has been a excellent producer with progeny topping the Family Traditions sales and others as well. In the 2008 sale her first daughter sold for $14,500 to the Winther family after several wins including Reserve Senior Champion at the Ft. Worth show was purchased by Wilson Farms and continues to be a donor in their lineup. Also, in the 2008 sale a Built Right fall commanded $19,500 to 3M Simmental and went on to be a successful show heifer and now resides as a donor. Many breeders have hit home runs with their embryo purchases out of Sazerac. C&C Farms purchased the first eggs sold and have had great show ring success with those females and are now donors in production. Clear Water purchased eggs in the 2008 sale for $1,000 each and sold Shock Force in the 2010 Family Tradition bull sale for $8,700 to Hudson Pines. Clear Water sold a daughter in the 2010 sale for $7,300 going to the Hudson Pines outfit. Cedar Lane Farms invested in embryos in the Genetic Perfection sale and sold a heifer in the North American sale for $17,700 to Janssen Farms and Hudson Pines. That Trademark daughter was a Division Champion as a calf in Denver and won many honors as a bred. In the 2009 sale a Frontier bred sold for $4,000 to Roger Holcher. In the Pine Ridge dispersal pregnancies sold for $6,500 each. In last years sale Circle M purchased embryos for $1,900 each. Other progeny have sold well in past sales to Guthridge Farms, C Bar Ranch, Sanders Ranch and others. This donor is still a beauty to behold and continues to excel with many years of production left.

Sazerac has always been flushed by Professional Embryo Services, Dr Jim Spears at Franklin, Ky. Sazerac has a solid track record in embryo transfer averaging 12 embryos per flush. Please contact Ronnie or Bryan Creek or Brad Tucker or DP Sales Management for additional details. Sazerac calved last May and sells open ready to flush soon after the sale. Sazerac is homozygous black. If you are serious about the Simmental and Sim Angus business this is good as it gets in a proven breed matriarch. With the breeding possibilities in our breed today, this donor can continue to flourish no matter who the winning bidder is sale day.

Selling 2 sets of 3 Embryos with no guarantee.

Donated by HTP SimmentalsSelling 2 sets of 3 embryos with no guarantee. Unfortunately, our dear friends Doug Spooner and his wife Cindy were taken

from us in early March after a car accident. Sadly, they left behind three children who will need help in the future. I purchased these eggs from Kaitlin Spooner at the Sweepstakes Junior Embryo Auction in conjunction with the Junior Nationals in Louisville. With the heavy flushing of our own donor cows, we had never found the time to put them in. I wanted to do something for this family because Doug was a great friend. KLS Jazzy was successfully campaigned by Kaitlin Spooner in the bred and owned division and was a standout among judges and spectators. The embryos are sired by SVF Star Power, and should produce an outstanding offspring with her cow power potential and his sleek design. One of the amazing aspects of this industry is the camaraderie that is formed among breeders, so please take this chance to help a deserving family and aid in the legacy of a great man. Selling two sets of three embryos with no guarantee sired by SVF Star Power.

Donated by Metzger Cattle Co. and Shipwreck Cattle Co.Brent Willams passing was a shock to the Simmental world, to his friends,

and family. Brent as many knew him was a avid supporter of the Simmental breed and kids whether they was his own or someone else’s. Brent shared his patience helping kids learn about sensible cattle practices, showing cattle and being competitive. Brent started his Simmental career at Mt. Brilliant Farms and worked along side his mentor Bill Couch and many other young cattle individuals which are tops in the industry today. No matter what Brent was dealt within life he took it well and never complained. Brent was a past customer of SVF and had many friends where ever he traveled. Please keep the Williams family in your prayers in the following months as they go through this difficult time. Thanks to Metzger Cattle Co; Jerod and Tracy Metzger and Shipwreck Cattle Co; Jered and Haley Shipman for donating a heifer in his memory. Proceeds go to the Makayla Williams Scholarship fund to aid in the future of his daughter whom he adored.
