Machine Condition Selecting FunctionMachine Conditions Selecting Function provides programmable

settings from 1 to 10 to balance tool path velocity against tool

path accuracy. Roughing operations would require high velocity

while finishing operations would require high tool path accuracy.

A value of 5 would be an equal balance between velocity and

accuracy. R1 would be maximum velocity and minimum accuracy,

R10 would be minimum velocity and maximum accuracy.

Memory Card I/O A wide range of data can be output to and input from the

memory card installed on front of the LCD unit. This card is

removable to allow data transfer between the control and a PC.

Embedded Ethernet: A standard Ethernet port provides FTP upload and download

|functions. Upload and Download your part programs and other

CNC files to a network drive at high speeds from easy to use

CNC screen.

Tool Management FunctionTracks tool life by time or number of uses. Automatically select

new tool when the life of current tool runs out.

Mold 3 OptionNano Contour Control. Similar to standard AI Contour Control

feature but provides nanometer interpolation for smoother more

accurate path control. The mold 3 option is ideal for 3 axis high

speed machining applications.

Nanometer Interpolation 1000 times finer interpolation command

increment results in a very smooth command to the digital servo control

Mold 5 OptionThis option delivers the highest level of processing speed available

on a Fanuc CNC with a RISC processor. Also comes with a data

server function to allow convenient transfer of large mold files.

• Inverse Time Feed: Allows rotary and linear axis to be

programmed in the same block defining the feedrate by the

amount of time required to make the move.

• RISC Function: A separate 64 bit processor used for part

program processing.

• AI high Precision Contour Control: Similar to the standard

AICC feature but increases the look ahead to 600 blocks

• Smooth Interpolation: Enables Smooth Interpolation

commands, a curved path around point to

point programming.

• Rotary Table Dynamic Fixture Offset: Automatically

updates the work coordinate offset of a part when the

offset is centered on a rotary axis.

• 3-D Coordinate System Conversion: The coordinate

system can be rotated in any 3 dimensions to track the

angle of a part in rotary axis.

• 3-Dimensional Tool Compensation: Tool

compensation can be applied along any direction.

• Data Server Function: Large part programs can be

stored and ran from a 512Mb flash card on the data

server board. Includes a high speed Ethernet interface

is included transferring files from the memory card to net

work drives through FTP.

Ethernet Board - With the FTP file transfer function

information can be transfer between the CNC and the PC at

speeds faster then an RS-232 port. The ethernet can serve

various data to many PCs at higher speed, and at the same

time, and is suitable for building the productive system

where many machine tools and factory computers

-exchange data.

The 18i -MB5 configuration for Fadal VMCs has a long list of

powerful standard features that make programming, part setup

and machine operation simple and strait forward. In addition to

the controls inherent ease-of-use a handy machine operator

panel (HMOP) allows remote operation of the Fadal VMC.

Optional features can be added to the control for increased

performance to match the needs of specific applications.
