Since 1972, Cooperl has been organizing its pig-breeding program with a group of highly specialized breeders.Through its genetic subsidiary company Nucleus™, Cooperl is the French leader in pig selection with a 38% market share. The aim is to produce high-quality pork products based on:- The breeding performances (reproduction & growth)- The carcass quality (meat yield, control of fat deposits)- The meat quality (color, taste, texture, lean meat rate...)
The breeding conditions (hygiene, feed, temperature) are the keys to obtain a high meat quality. Cooperl has developed a state of the art farm building, Bioevolutis™. This filtration system guarantees:- Biosecurity,- Animal welfare, - High productivity.
BiosecurityThe system includes an exclusive air filtration system with 3 levels of filtration, which stop particles up to 1 micron. The system prevents farm contamination.
Animal welfareBioevolutis is designed with innovative air diffusion system Perfalu™ for a smooth and homogenous air diffusion in all areas of the building. The system improves animal comfort and zootechnical performances. The exhausted air is evacuated by chimneys or by a centralized air-tower equipped with air washer.
High productivity and lower cost This system simplifies the maintenance and technical support. Turbines are equipped with a new generation of Green power engines to reduce electric consumption up to 60%.
Located in the northwest of France (Brittany, Normandy and the Loire Valley), the farms produce 6 million pigs per year (25% of the French pig production).
Pig breeding requires many cross disciplinary skills: combining hygiene, feed, sanitation and good management. Farming sector includes:- 2,700 breeders- 52 breeding technicians- 16 building technicians- 27 vets.This multidisciplinary team works together in order to produce the highest quality pork to meet consumer needs.
All our plants have HACCP quality standards.The meat factories are certified BRC (British Retail Consortium) level A and ISO 9001 for their entire production activities. With these two standards, we reach the best security for consumers.
A large number of industrial processes have been implemented to guarantee the security through all the pig chain:
• Full farm traceability up to the final product. This guarantee is reinforced by the «Feed to Meat» Cooperl organization.
• Health inspections are carried out at different steps of the pro-duction chain (farms, processing plants, transportation)
• Many inspections (hygiene, cold chain, microbiologygical tests) are carried out in different areas (farms, slaughterhouses, meat processing plants, laboratories).
Cooperl environment industry is based on 3 inter-dependent activities :
- DENITRAL™ Center is the specialist of the pig manure treatment: The manure is filtrated (solid-liquid separation) then denitrified. This system eliminates 95% of Nitrogen (N) and 90% of Phosphorus (P2O5).
• CEDEV™ Center recycles by-products from our slaughterhouses into green energy. With a high capacity water cleaning system, 1 million m3 of water per year and 70% of energy from our plants are recycled.
• FERTIVAL™ Center converts pig manure into organic fertilizer. Fertival produces more than 80,000 tons of fertilizer and 400 formulas, used for gardening, vegetables, fruits and cereals.

The Animal Feed division includes a feed formulation department working with a team of highly skilled nitritionists. Since 1990, Farm’apro™, Cooperl animal health branch, is developing alternative veterinary solutions, to guarantee healthy animals and a high profitability on production.
Research and DevelopmentThe R&D center carries out scientific research including feasibility studies and field experiments. Moreover, collaboration between the R&D department and veterinary surgeons and breeders of the Cooperl group grants us unlimited information flow and knowledge on animal health issues.
InnovationFarm’apro™ cooperates with many research units in France and abroad to share their expertise. They develop new products and para-pharmaceutical solutions to improve animal comfort, breeders’ convenience and to increase the efficiency, productivity and quality. These products are tested on 6 million pigs, approved by 27 vets. They are widely used by all of our breeders and sold all over the country and in Europe for more than 10 years. Products:- Dietary element: vitamin solutions, digestion regulators, phyto-nutritional supplements.- Hygiene and biosecurity: detergents, water treatment.- Environment: manure liquefying product, deodorizing products.- Reproduction: gynecological gel, semen extender.

Cold chain Cooperl has a fully integrated freezing plant to guarantee a conti-nuous industrial process for optimum meat freshness. We have a modern plant that complies with international quality assurance standards and often surpassing the requirements.
Sales Cooperl sells its meat through its own brands (Broceliande and Aurelien) .Moreover, we are active in different market segments.
- 45% are resold to meat processing manufacters.- 18% are retailed to butcheries and supermarkets (Carrefour, Auchan, Tesco...)- 37% for export: Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, UK, Italy, Greece, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Japan, Korea, China.
An international presenceFlexibility and reliability are the core values of the logistics network we have developed with our partners in France, Europe and Asia. Refrigerated and frozen meat can be transported by road, air and sea in 15 to 25 tons temperature-controlled containers.Cooperl has sales representatives and offices in many countries including Russia, China, Italy, England, and Hungary.

The breeding conditions (hygiene, feed, temperature) are the keys to obtain a high meat quality. Cooperl has developed a state of the art farm building, Bioevolutis™. This filtration system guarantees:- Biosecurity,- Animal welfare, - High productivity.
BiosecurityThe system includes an exclusive air filtration system with 3 levels of filtration, which stop particles up to 1 micron. The system prevents farm contamination.
Animal welfareBioevolutis is designed with innovative air diffusion system Perfalu™ for a smooth and homogenous air diffusion in all areas of the building. The system improves animal comfort and zootechnical performances. The exhausted air is evacuated by chimneys or by a centralized air-tower equipped with air washer.
High productivity and lower cost This system simplifies the maintenance and technical support. Turbines are equipped with a new generation of Green power engines to reduce electric consumption up to 60%.
Located in the northwest of France (Brittany, Normandy and the Loire Valley), the farms produce 6 million pigs per year (25% of the French pig production).
Pig breeding requires many cross disciplinary skills: combining hygiene, feed, sanitation and good management. Farming sector includes:- 2,700 breeders- 52 breeding technicians- 16 building technicians- 27 vets.This multidisciplinary team works together in order to produce the highest quality pork to meet consumer needs.
All our plants have HACCP quality standards.The meat factories are certified BRC (British Retail Consortium) level A and ISO 9001 for their entire production activities. With these two standards, we reach the best security for consumers.
A large number of industrial processes have been implemented to guarantee the security through all the pig chain:
• Full farm traceability up to the final product. This guarantee is reinforced by the «Feed to Meat» Cooperl organization.
• Health inspections are carried out at different steps of the pro-duction chain (farms, processing plants, transportation)
• Many inspections (hygiene, cold chain, microbiologygical tests) are carried out in different areas (farms, slaughterhouses, meat processing plants, laboratories).
Cooperl environment industry is based on 3 inter-dependent activities :
- DENITRAL™ Center is the specialist of the pig manure treatment: The manure is filtrated (solid-liquid separation) then denitrified. This system eliminates 95% of Nitrogen (N) and 90% of Phosphorus (P2O5).
• CEDEV™ Center recycles by-products from our slaughterhouses into green energy. With a high capacity water cleaning system, 1 million m3 of water per year and 70% of energy from our plants are recycled.
• FERTIVAL™ Center converts pig manure into organic fertilizer. Fertival produces more than 80,000 tons of fertilizer and 400 formulas, used for gardening, vegetables, fruits and cereals.

The Animal Feed division includes a feed formulation department working with a team of highly skilled nitritionists. They strive to meet:• Consumer expectations in terms of quality and food safety (through quality assurance and following specific feed requirements).• Breeders’ expectations in terms of quality and competitiveness (price/quality ratio)
Since 1990, Farm’apro™, Cooperl animal health branch, is developing alternative veterinary solutions, to guarantee healthy animals and a high profitability on production.
Research and DevelopmentThe R&D center carries out scientific research including feasibility studies and field experiments. Moreover, collaboration between the R&D department and veterinary surgeons and breeders of the Cooperl group grants us unlimited information flow and knowledge on animal health issues.
InnovationFarm’apro™ cooperates with many research units in France and abroad to share their expertise. They develop new products and para-pharmaceutical solutions to improve animal comfort, breeders’ convenience and to increase the efficiency, productivity and quality. These products are tested on 6 million pigs, approved by 27 vets. They are widely used by all of our breeders and sold all over the country and in Europe for more than 10 years. Products:- Dietary element: vitamin solutions, digestion regulators, phyto-nutritional supplements.- Hygiene and biosecurity: detergents, water treatment.- Environment: manure liquefying product, deodorizing products.- Reproduction: gynecological gel, semen extender.
SlaughteringCooperl is the pig industry leader in France and one of the largest pig producer in Europe:- 3 modern industrial slaughterhouses - 5 meat processing plants equipped with the latest technologies- 5 million pigs slaughtered per year (100,000 per week) - 500,000 tons of meat per year

Cold chain Cooperl has a fully integrated freezing plant to guarantee a conti-nuous industrial process for optimum meat freshness. We have a modern plant that complies with international quality assurance standards and often surpassing the requirements.
Sales Cooperl sells its meat through its own brands (Broceliande and Aurelien) .Moreover, we are active in different market segments.
- 45% are resold to meat processing manufacters.- 18% are retailed to butcheries and supermarkets (Carrefour, Auchan, Tesco...)- 37% for export: Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, UK, Italy, Greece, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Japan, Korea, China.
An international presenceFlexibility and reliability are the core values of the logistics network we have developed with our partners in France, Europe and Asia. Refrigerated and frozen meat can be transported by road, air and sea in 15 to 25 tons temperature-controlled containers.Cooperl has sales representatives and offices in many countries including Russia, China, Italy, England, and Hungary.
