    Member Spotlight Brooks-Waterburn Corp./Joel Blitzer

Since 1960, Brooks-Waterburn Corp. has been dedicated to protect-ing our clients’ business against a “disaster type” loss that would seri-ously cripple their operations. Some small risks can be assumed with no insurance needed or desirable.

On the other hand, there must be adequate and correctly written property and liability insurance to provide for destruction of real or personal property and liability suits. We have insured many of our clients for 20 to 30+ years, spanning two generations of business owners.

We are able to keep our business by providing personalized service, usually by an Officer of the Company. Your phone call will not be greeted by a recorded message giving you several options; instead, you will speak to a live person ded-icated to serve you.

Our expertise in Workers’ Compensation Insurance (many times your largest pre-mium policy) enables us to substantially reduce premiums for both the current year and the years to follow. More details on Workers’ Compensation savings are available throughout their website.

Our Employee Benefits Department offers both Group and Individual coverage for Life, Disability, and Medical Insurance. We also offer Business Life for Buy/Sell Agreements, Key Man and Deferred Compensation Plans. Brooks-Waterburn can furnish One Stop Shopping for all your insurance needs.

As an Independent Agent, we represent the top rated insurance carriers such as Hartford, Travelers, CNA, Guard Insurance Co, Ace Insurance and many other quality insurance companies. Companies you know will be there when you need them.

Contact Joel for more info: [email protected] or 516-997-9800

Are you taking advantage of all your membership benefits through the chamber?

Meetings: The Chamber holds monthly member meetings on the first Thursday of each month, September through June. We encourage attendees to bring promo-tional materials to share with other attendees. Each person has an opportunity to introduce their business and any special offers.

In addition, a speaker is scheduled to present information on topics to help you run your business more efficiently and effectively. Contact Chris Wider (516) 752-1007 if you’re interested in offering a 15 minute presentation at one of our meetings.

Networking: The Chamber holds monthly networking events year round. The dates vary so be sure to check the events calendar on our website. If your busi-ness is interested in hosting an after hours event, please contact Joe Leone (631)231-9200x214.

Publicity and Advertising: The Chamber provides valuable publicity and com-munity awareness. We sponsor at least one advertising project each year that

promotes members to the community in print format. The Chamber is also involved in many events throughout the year to promote business in Farmingdale. The annual Holiday Parade draws hundreds of resi-dents, parents, and children to the Main Street area. The Chamber also supports the Farmingdale Community Summit Expo, which is held in March at Farmingdale High School. Chamber members are offered a discount on the table fee. We promote all Chamber members at the Summit Expo and other community events. Members can display their marketing materials at the chamber’s table and are welcome to help man the tables to meet the community. In addition, we identify sponsorship opportunities (St Patrick’s Day Parade, Street Fairs, and more, and advise the members of these opportunities.)

Promotion: Submit a Newsletter Article for extra publicity. You can also submit a news release, add a special event to the chamber’s public calendar, or add spe-cial offers (Daler Deals) for promotion directly on our website. Events, Deals and Press Releases receive extra publicity on our website and social media accounts.

Member Mailing Lists: You are entitled to member mailing lists - simply ask for one by emailing the chamber. (These are not email lists - our policy is to not dis-tribute email addresses - this keeps your email address safe, too!) Log into the chamber website and you will have the ability to contact fellow members by email.

Increase your Internet Presence: The Chamber’s website is your opportunity to get additional exposure on the Internet. As a member, you can post your logo and a brief narrative of your business. An email link connects you to potential customers. We also recommend you take advantage of the feature that enables you to add keywords to your listing. All of these services are included in your membership. In addition, we also offer our members advertising banners on the Chamber website at a VERY reasonable rate. Social Media: Our Chamber has a presence on most of the major social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Follow us @fdalechamber on twitter and Instagram / farmingdalenychamber on Facebook – we follow back and try to help promote the members when time permits.

Certificates of Origin: If your company ships products overseas, the Chamber offers Certificates of Origin.

Email Marketing: Farmingdale Chamber participates in Constant Contact’s Chamber of Commerce program. This means Farmingdale Chamber members can get pre-pay discounts of up to 25% on Email Marketing, Online Survey, and Event Marketing tools.

Job Postings: Seeking new staff members? The chamber offers free job postings. Just visit the Member Information Center to post your job opening and require-ments. The job posting will appear on our website.

Email [email protected] or call (516) 286-7800 if you have any questions or need assistance logging into the chamber’s website.
