PURPOSE & OBJECTIVES

Purpose:

The purpose of the course is to advance the existing knowledge base and

implement best practices for this system.

Objectives:

To train operators in the following new and updated Tabs:

• Login Tab

• Operations Tab

• Event Log Tab

• Layout Configuration Tab

• System Tab (Implementation Managers only)

SYSTEM WARNINGS

Preparations

• Ensure all photo-eyes are functioning properly prior to unloading

• Block a Photo-Eye and the “status” (yellow) LED will be illuminated

• Ensure that all transport bands are on the system and properly mounted and all the pulleys (Idler wheel) are

present. (at least the two end pulleys and bottom two are required)

1. Ensure that the system is operational – the computer is “on” and FAST icon software is present if not already open

2. Ensure that there is NOT an E-Stop pressed

3. Ensure the system is not in a “Run” state

(red “stop”)

To LOGIN to the CASI CORE HMI, follow these

steps:

1. Click in the white box next to Username to bring

up the onscreen keyboard.

2. Enter UserName and Password.

• In this example, “w” was entered for UserName.

3. Click Login button.

4. The screen displays a message that the user is

logged on.

Valid User Logins

• “w” for store;

• “t3” for Mid-level Management

• “casi” for technical support

WARNING: Prior to running if you see other than “w’;

logoff and login as “w”.

To LOGOUT of the CASI CORE HMI, follow these

steps:

1. Navigate to the Logout Tab.

2. The screen will display a message that the user

is logged on.

3. Click the Logout button.

NOTE: Operators may not logout if system is

running. Trying to do so will result in a System

Running Error. Click OK to close error popup.

1. Select a Trailer from the “Trailer to

Unload” list. • These are trailer # already in the

database

• Every hour the system queries WM for

available trailers for that store

• These trailer # are maintained for 7

days

2. The selected trailer number will be

listed in the Selected Trailer

textbox.

3. The Outs Quantity will populate.• Note: This may populate once starting

to scan/sort and not always upon

selecting the trailer #

FAST SYSTEM SOFTWARE TRAINING FOR WALMARTOPERATIONS TAB – FIND A TRAILER

The updated Operations Tab allows for streamlined Trailer

searching. Use this feature when the needed trailer is not

listed.

To search for a Trailer:

1. Enter Trailer Number. Must be exact match and case

sensitive

2. Click the Search button.• The system will indicate it is searching. This search may take 10-20

seconds.

• A “Found” or “Not Found” result will be displayed.

NOTE: If the trailer is not found contact WM NOC after you make sure you

entered it exactly and with the correct ‘case’ on any ‘letters’

3. Choose Trailer from those listed.

4. The trailer number will be listed in the Selected Trailer

textbox.

5. Click the Start button.

1. Click the Front Monitor

ON/OFF button to turn on the

HALO front monitor. • If the monitor does not turn on

try the universal remote.

2. If the Count Screen does not

display on the front monitor,

click the Move Count Screen

WARNING: The system will not run without a Trailer Number

selected.

If no Trailer number is selected the system will display a

Starting System error.

Click OK to close the message.

Once a valid Trailer number has been selected and the Start

button pushed, the system will start.

As the system is initializing, the following text and audible

alerts will display in the following order;

1. A yellow Starting System banner will display at the

top of the screen along with an audible “System is

Starting” alert message.

2. The green Start button will toggle to a red Stop

button

• Sections of the FAST system may initialize to clear any

remaining boxes on the conveyors. These items will be

sent to Lane 9.

As the system is initializing, the following text and audible

alerts will display in the following order;

3. A yellow System is Ready banner will display at

the top of the screen along with an audible

“System is Ready” alert message.

4. The traffic lights on the HALO will display as

green.

5. A green System Running banner will display at

the top of the screen.

Test Mode is only available to

Implementation Level Log in Users.

This button may be used during:

• System setup.

• Initial and remedial operator training.

• Maintenance of the system.

During these events, the “Test Mode

Activated” message will show on the

screen.

Operating the system as normal but in

Test Mode, all items will sort to Lane 9.

T3 login user to change back to “normal”

operation is required

FAST SYSTEM SOFTWARE TRAINING FOR WALMARTOPERATIONS TAB – E-STOP ALERT

This alert will sound until E-Stop is reset.

Ensure all E-Stop buttons are reset throughout the

system.

Once the E-stop is reset the system will reconfigure.

SPECIAL NOTE:

If a Sortation Tee is disconnected, the e-stop circuit is

disrupted and you will get an “E-STOP” alarm

SPECIAL NOTE:

If the Lane 9 terminator plug is disconnected, the e-

stop circuit is disrupted and you will get an “E-STOP”

alarm

Any time an E-Stop is pushed within the system, an E-Stop alert will display on the CORE screen.

A red “Emergency Stop Pushed” banner will display at the top of the screen along with an audible “E-Stop Pushed”

alert.

FAST SYSTEM SOFTWARE TRAINING FOR WALMARTOPERATIONS TAB – RECONFIGURING SYSTEM (FLEX/TEE MOVE & E-STOP)

If a Tee or Flex section of the system is moved, the

system must reconfigure to find and reconfigure the layout

addresses of the individual modules.

While the system is reconfiguring, the following will

display;

1. A yellow Reconfiguring System banner will display

along with an audible “Reconfiguring System”

message.

• The audible message will repeat every ~5 seconds

until the reconfiguration is complete.

When the process is complete;

2. A yellow Reconfiguration Complete banner will

display along with an audible the system

“Reconfiguration Complete” message.

• Click the Green Start button to initialize the system.

• The initializing system banners will cycle and

display along with the audible messages.

The Event Log tab displays the status of real-time system events.

1. The Event Log screen is a dynamic, view-only page that continually updates. Clicking Disable Auto

Refresh toggle button enables you to disable automatic updating for a static view.

This is an auto-refreshing and will

scroll up unless you disable the

auto-refresh.

Field Definition

1 Time The system time of the scan.

2 Barcode The Barcode number on the box associated with the event.

3 Description DLL response as to what to do with the box

4 Sort Lane The lane the system intends to move the box to.

5 Lane Confirm Verification that the box in the event was sorted to the correct lane.

6 Additional Info Displays “SORTED” or other additional information of why it sorted/confirmed to this lane

DEPARTMENT_SORT Item has been scanned and has a route defined for it from DLL as a Department item

No Read

Scanner could not read the barcode for the following reasons. This item will go to Lane 9

•Missing or damaged barcode

•Barcode not in correct place.

•Barcode was repeated immediately.

OutDisplays if the box is in Out status.

This item is to be immediately taken to the department.

Break Pack This item will be sorted to Lane 9 for One-Touch put away.

File Information Missing The barcode is not in loaded trailer files. This item will go to Lane 9 for manual sorting.

No_Route ??????

Sorted Item has been confirmed it sorted to a destination lane

No Read

Scanner could not read the barcode for the following reasons. This item will go to Lane 9

•Missing or damaged barcode

•Barcode not in correct place.

•Barcode was repeated immediately.

Too Long

Items size is calculated to be too long and may get stuck in the FAST sorting system.

•An assigned lane may display, but the item will be sent to Lane 9 for manual sortation.

•This calculation is based on time to clear the photo eyes into the HALO.

MULTIPLE_BARCODES

Scanner scanned multiple barcodes on what FAST "sees" as one box

System sorts all to the first barcode destination it sees in the database regardless of where the other barcodes are for

●· Two or more boxes side by side

●· Box on top of each other

●· Box has multiple barcodes on it that are between 16 to 25 digits long

Lane Full AlertIf lane is full when Item is scanned

•A Yellow Lane # Full banner will display at the top of the screen along with an audible “Lane # Full” alert.

The Layout Configuration Tab displays the

system layout, based on the number of sorter

modules recognized by the software.

The Operator can now view more information

from this screen. It is also replicated on the

Front Monitor.

The following information is available on the

screen:

Field Definition

Scanned Number of cases scanned per lane.

Lane Numbers The lane numbers have been relocated to identify the lane more

easily.

Total Cases

Scanned

Total number of cases scanned by the system

Cases per

Minute

Number of cases scanned by the system per minute.

There are several events that will cause an alert

message on the Layout Configuration Tab.

1. If a lane is full:

• A red box will display over the full lane along

with an audible Lane is full message.

2. Sorter or HALO Jam:

• A red box will display over the area along

with an audible “Jammed” message.

3. A yellow alert banner will display along at the

top of the screen along with an audible alert

message.

The System Tab is a password

protected Tab. For access the operator

must login with the correct level.

The tab contains two sections:

• Settings and Troubleshooting

• Services

Settings and Troubleshooting

The following settings are available on

the System Tab.

1. Select the desired settings.

2. Once settings have been selected,

click Save.

3. Exit Solidview and reopen Solidview

for the changes to take effect.

The System Tab is a password protected

Tab. For access the operator must login with

the correct level.

The tab contains two sections:

Services

The following Services information is available

on the System Tab.

Display current CASI services running within

the system.

• They will show green if running, or red if

stopped.

• The operator may click on the line to start

or stop the service.
