They sold out over and over - the Mannish bags that FastRider introduced last year. So we expanded the popular

line in black and violet with a stylish ‘Petrol’ version. Mannish in Petrol. A fashion colour seen increasingly on

the street. It has a fresh appearance and fits in the ‘colour flash’ category. Otherwise, the popular Mannish’s

indestructible qualities were left intact: a playful, multi-functional bag with spacious (36-liter) volume for daily

use. The beautiful block print makes it contemporary. And the handy quick-release closures and the shape of the

What should you keep in mind when buying a bike bag?

You plan on buying a new bike bag, you walk into the store and ... now what?! Which considerations should you make when

buying a bike bag and what are some of the practical tips you might not have thought of before?

FastRider summarises a few of the main points.

Which model of bike bag fits me?

Before walking into the bike bag speciality shop,

ask yourself the question:

Which type of bag suits my uses?

Am I looking for a single bag to take along easily every-

where? Does it have attachment hooks that pivot away

and is it perfect for quick errands? Or do I carry around a

lot of stuff each day and is a double bag more suitable?

Or, wait... I have an E-bike. Maybe there are special bags

for these?

There’s a solution to every need....

a FastRider bike bag!

For E-bikes, for example, we offer the possibility of fitting

the bike bag perfectly to your baggage rack. Since the

E-bike double bike bag is equipped with a unique

adjustable middle panel, it nearly always fits. Still prefer a

single bag? No problem. FastRider has developed various

special hooks for this that pivot out of the way and that

can be attached easily.

What do I use my bike bag for?

It’s good to know that the volume of the bags can vary

significantly. For double bags, in particular, this can be

from between 30 liters to more than 65 liters! If you’re

using your bag mainly for daily errands, then 40 liters

should be fine. But if it’s for your weekly paper route or a

ride to school with a heavy book bag, then 50 - 65 liters

is more appropriate. And the tarpaulin cargo and tough-

as-nails canvas bike bags are particularly suitable.

Still, if you prefer a single bag for daily commuting, then

FastRider is also the right choice! From tough shoulder

bags to chic attaché cases, with a padded section for a

laptop and/or tablet and organiser, you’re ready to go to

work.

Going for a longer tour or intending to go on vacation

with your bike? Then you can choose from among various

sporty bags in the lightweight series. Furthermore, the

patented Kidshopper is suitable for bikes with a child’s

Polyester, canvas or tarpaulin?

The fabric makes the bag! When developing a bike bag,

we look closely at the material best suitable and how it fits

with the design. The choice is mainly from among polyester,

canvas or tarpaulin fabric. For example, the infamous news-

paper bags are made of tarpaulin fabric, allowing them

to handle extra weight. By giving them a shiny or a matte

coating, the bags get an entirely different look. Looking for

a tough-as-nails, robust bag that will last for a long time?

Then choose canvas. The canvas fabric that FastRider uses is

100% cotton. By means of a unique wax treatment,

the fabric is protected against dampness, mould and shrink-

age. Since we are so convinced of the quality of the

canvas bags, FastRider offers a guarantee of at least five

years against production and fabric malfunctions.

The collection also includes bags made of high-value,

water repellent, 600D polyester fabric.

It’s important to know that all of our fabrics are REACH-

proof for each production run, that they are stringently

tested by SGS and that they satisfy all of the requirements.

Do you follow trends?

Then you’re spot-on with FastRider! Our stylists follow

today’s fashion scene closely and translate this into our

products. For inspiration for the new collection, the styling

and product management department looks at develop-

ments in the fashion & home market, visits trade shows

If you want trendy and hip, then you’ll find bags in fashio-

nable, colourful prints in various models. For those not

looking to stand out quite so much, there are still many

alternatives, of course, that are more conservative in terms

of prints and colour.

At home anywhere

A bit chic, yet still playful. But above all a universal bag you can rely on under all conditions: the Argo is everyone’s friend.

In addition to the dark blue version currently available, a black Argo will be introduced this year. The Argo is excellent as a

(spacious) errand bag and is also quite suitable for recreational use. Thanks to the reinforcement, the bag always keeps its

shape beautifully. It’s available as a shopper and as a double bag; made of water-repellent polyester in both cases.

Multi bags


Colour boost

Prolonged and expanded due to success: after their introduction last year, the collection of Multi-bags were hugely sold

and acclaimed. It was a reason to expand the ‘colour boost series’ further: the double bags are now available in the colour

combinations ‘matte black and brown’, fitting with the urban look and with many kinds of bikes. Contemporary and super-

functional. The strong points of these all-around bags were retained, of course: they’re made of water-repellent tarpaulin and

given tough quick-release closures and reflection. The double bags - containing more than 35 liters of biking and carrying

pleasure - have no non-essential bells and whistles and therefore provide a rock-solid price to quality ratio. Thanks to the 18

The popular double panniers LED Trendy and the LED Trendy Dia have undergone a metamorphosis. The new versions are made

of combined materials; waterproof tarpaulin supplemented with water-repellent polyester. The familiar striped straps for the

handy quick-closures remain. These bags are particularly suited to everyday errands, even if you don’t notice this right away

due to their tough exterior. The LED Trendy Dia’s tapered shape is noticeable, of course. It’s intended to prevent your heels from

Sportive and robust What’s in a number? FastRider’s “37” double bike bag was already extremely popular with its users. And that crowd of enthusiastic

bikers will only increase, now that there’s both a canvas version and a new 37 version made of tarpaulin. There’s a reason for the

transformation to the Tarpaulin 37, of course: tarpaulin is tough as nails, water-repellent and has a beautiful appearance. And the

matte black finish now makes the bag completely hot & happening. All of the canvas version’s strong points are retained in the

Those old newspaper bike bags of last year weren’t so bad after all. The Cargo range [Cargo and LED Cargo], both in various

colours, is inspired by those good old rock-solid newspaper bags. One of those bags that you can open and close again and

FastRider E-Bike bags have an adjustable middle panel that allows the bag

to fit on nearly any [E-] bike.

The panel is adjustable in width using velcro and consists of three layers.

Hang the bag on the bike with the middle panel on the bike’s rack. Loosen

the upper [A] and middle [B] layer. Determine the proper width, then first

place the middle and upper layers back on. Attach the bag to the baggage

rack using the attachment straps on the bottom of the middle panel.

Everything you always wanted to know about...

Practical tips are always handy. Especially when you’re going to purchase a bike bag. Page 28 already provided ideas about

what to look for when purchasing a bag. We discuss this in more detail on these pages.

Securing a double bike bag to the baggage rack

You attach the bag to the bike easily by means of small

belts on the underside. This ensures that the bag doesn’t

slide around and that it keeps its shape nicely on the bike.

In addition to the small belts, many of FastRider’s

double bags are equipped with a so-called NBS system.

This system is on the backside of the bag and provides the

attachment to the baggage rack. This keeps the bag from

flapping while biking.

Keep using quick release straps

Since many double bags have an open centre panel

[the connecting piece between both bags], the quick

release straps can continue to be used. If the centre panel

has been sewn shut, then FastRider bags are still equipped

with slots that can be cut open so that the quick release

straps can go through them.

Using a child’s seat & bike bag together

To create more space on the baggage rack, particularly

when a child’s seat is also used, there is the possibility of

using a baggage rack extender. This allows the bike bag

to be placed more toward the rear while your taillight still

remains visible.

Keeping bags away from the wheels

With large bags, in particular, after being used for some

time, the bags tend to find their way between the spokes

(because of the weight, the side of the bag can fold toward

the inside). To prevent this, FastRider offers the solution of

a spacer. These can be attached in the slots at the rear.

Locking the bag safely

For bike bags, in particular, it’s extremely important that the

flap can be closed well. There are various possibilities for doing

this, including quick closures and Velcro.

Using an LED taillight

Several years ago, FastRider had the idea of adapting the

shape of the centre panel in such a way that LED lighting

could continue to be used. Due to the small round cutout,

the LED light is not covered and so it turns on only in the dark.

Keep your feet from hitting the bag

FastRider is known for thinking actively about/with

consumers - also about the shape of the bike bag.

Certain bags in the collection have a slanted side. This is a

practical feature that prevents your feet from hitting the

bag while biking. Handy, also for smaller baggage racks,

since this allows you to place the bag slightly more

forward without causing irritation.

Keep rain from seeping in

A bike bag is for use outside, so the bag must also be able

to be used on rainy days. First and foremost, the fabric is

important: this must be water-repellent. But some models

also have extra rain flaps. These are small flaps on the side

of the top flap which allow for careful closure and which

keep the inside of the bag protected against rain seeping in.

Even if some water does get into the bag, e.g. because the

flap was open, then a small drain hole at the bottom of the

bag ensures that water doesn’t collect.

Extra reinforcement

Nothing is more annoying than when you’re bike bag sags

on the bike (out of shape) and starts tearing precisely in

places where extra reinforcement is needed. By using

so-called “notches” at the top of the bag, FastRider

provides extra reinforcement on the sides, keeping the

chance of the bag’s tearing to a minimum. In addition,

we also work with (metal) strips, so-called “stiffeners”,

that keep the bag nicely in shape and that do not bend.

Neat finishing

In addition to all the practical aspects, FastRider also has an

eye for a bag’s neat finish. Have all of the seams been sewn

neatly? Has the finishing been done carefully? Or are there

any blots or weaving flaws in the fabric? Our own quality

control for each production run ensures that we bring a

quality product to market that stays in shape nicely and that

won’t start to bend.

For each model, FastRider checks which solution is best

suited and keeps the practical aspects firmly in mind.

In addition, large bags have an extra closure at the top of

the bag (under the flap). This clasp keeps the bag nicely in

shape when the bag is filled.
