Where the Campus Community Comes Together

The FAU Faculty and Staff Club is a unique and important new component intended to foster tradition at Florida Atlantic University. Strategically located in the new College of Engineering Building, the Club is expected to host distinguished faculty, staff, alumni, friends, guests and partners of the Univer-sity. The Club will be open to members and their guests for breakfast, lunch, special events and may be reserved for private functions.

The Faculty and Staff Club is housed in the College of Engineering build-ing, a planned LEED Platinum Level Building. Being conscious of the green standards set for the building and in keeping with the sustainability efforts of FAU’s Business Services, the FAU Faculty and Staff Club was designed and constructed accordingly. We expect to achieve LEED Certification for Commercial Interiors. This venue has already received particular attention for its design details. American School and University Magazine awarded the venue Outstanding Design: Work in Progress for the 2009 Architectural Portfolio.

In addition to being the University’s Faculty and Staff Club, this premier space will be available for private functions for your department or organization as well as private social functions such as weddings and other special events.

The University Faculty and Staff Club The Atrium Patio is immediately adjacent to the Atrium area on the first floor. With a passion for food and a love of enter-taining, Todd Billeci and the Catering Team create a quality dining experience. Chef Billeci believes that the taste of free-range and organic products is so much better than the alternative. It is also good to know that you are eating unadulterated food and supporting farmers and growers who are directly connected with the land.

Embodying FAU Mission Green and Compass Group’s sustainability, Chef Billeci celebrates food choices that celebrates flavor, affirms regional cultural traditions, and supports local communities without compromising air, water or soil, now and in the future.

Sustainability can be defined as meeting the present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

According to www.sustainablecampus.org, sustainability means reducing our footprint on the future and involves improving economic efficiency, protecting and restoring ecological systems and enhancing the well being of people. In terms of events, it means considering the impact your event will have on the environment. Whether it’s using only recycled materials or sending excess food to a local food bank.

The Event Management Office is dedicated to promoting sus-tainability in all our events, in keeping with our Mission Green initiative. Please read our Sustainable Event Planning Guide (www.fau.edu/events) for more information on how to make your event as environmentally friendly as possible.
