All teachers need to know their individual student needs in order to provide tailored instruction and offer reinforcement through TAKS enrichment classes or tutorials, Saturday academies

7.4 All English Teachers will participate in reviewing and analysis of curriculum and establish vertical and horizontal alignment.
All teachers need to ensure that the previous year teachers are covering the pre-requisite TEKS needed in order for students to be successful in the upcoming year. They also need to meet horizontally to make sure that they are covering the same TEKS and using successful strategies.

7.5 All English / E.S.L. Teachers will attend District/Campus Staff Development to acquire initiatives, strategies, and activities pertaining to Special Education, Technology, Discipline Management and Conflict Resolution.
All teachers will be given training on various strategies that will make students more successful and enable teachers to monitor the progress of the ELL students through the English Language Proficiency Standards
modules.

7.6 English and ESL students will participate in Open Book Literacy to establish a solid foundation for new English learners, build on skills, reduce accent, advance grammar skills and expand vocabulary.

The IEP is a legal document and all students must receive the assistance they need in
Content Mastery.

7.2. Teachers certified and highly qualified in Special Education will be hired for after school tutorial programs to address student’s special needs in order to reinforce TEKS / TAKS / TAKS-Accommodated /Modified / TAKS ALT. objectives and increase campus AYP by 10%.
Special education teachers need to concentrate on the special education population because they are more familiar with the type of strategies these students need to be successful in TAKS.

7.3. Special Education Teachers will be provided with a study item analysis of the students TAKS/ TAKS-A & M to determine appropriate instructional planning for their students.
Special education teachers need to study the item analysis to make sure that the students are taking the right test and that the students are mastering the TEKS.

7.6. SE and Regular Education Teachers will meet prior to ARD to discuss pertinent information regarding student’s progress.
Special Education teachers need to co-plan with regular education teachers and monitor student progress. They need to communicate with each other to see if the student is being successful in the LRE with the modifications being implemented or they must decide on new strategies, new placement, new testing accommodations/modifications, or even a different test being administered in order for the special education student to be successful.
