I am pleased to announce our initial slate of speakers for FCC Behavioral Health's 40th Anniversary celebration on August 30th:

Kimberly Brown, Region VII Administrator, SAMHSA Dr. Rick Gowdy, Director, Missouri Division of Behavioral Health Brent McGinty, Chief Executive Officer, Missouri Coalition for Community Behavioral Healthcare

This will be an exciting time, and an exciting year for FCC. Our new strategic plan will go before the Board of Directors on June 30th for approval and then copies will be distributed to all staff. Please take the time to review the plan as it details the direction FCC will be going over the next year. Each staff member has an important role to fill if we are to achieve our strate-gic goals. Some key goals include: Facility Enhancements | New Facilities | Leadership & Mentoring | Recognition Programs | Voca-tional Services | Employee Wellness | Electronic Health Records | Trauma Awareness | Zero Suicide Initiative | My Strength Initiative | Clinical Initiatives | Community Outreach & Collaborations Clearly, we have many important goals to enhance the effectiveness of the care we deliver, as well as to the overall environ-ment at FCC. Perhaps the most exciting opportunity facing our organization this year is the Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) designation under the Excellence Act, co-sponsored by Missouri Senator Roy Blunt. As the State of Missouri makes systemic changes to the delivery of behavioral health services under the Act, you can be sure FCC Behavioral Health will be there every step of the way. FCC has a strong collaboration at the state-level, and I am pleased to have been elected this year's Vice Chair of the Missouri Coalition for Community Behavioral Healthcare. Together we have accomplished much, but we have much more to do. Working together, our leadership and pro-gram teams can build upon the solid foundation we have achieved to realize our organization's goals in order to achieve our vision:

Person-Centered Recovery and Wellness.

I want to thank each of our staff for their dedicated efforts to achieve this vision on behalf of our 5,200 persons-served last year. Thank you! Shawn Sando, CEO

Thursday, June 16, six partic-

ipants enrolled in the Leadership Kennett program, sponsored by

the Kennett Chamber of Com-

merce, met with members of the executive team of FCC Behav-

ioral Health to learn more about

services provided. The focus of today was to visit a variety of

health care providers to gain a

better understanding of services. Over the course of the program,

participants will gain a better

understanding of services availa-ble in the community, develop

relationships with current and

future leaders and develop net-working skills.

I am pleased to announce that FCC Be-havioral Health has been awarded a Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) grant titled Project WIN (Women and Infants In Need). Project WIN will create enhanced access to, and availability of, necessary behavioral health care options for women living in Dunklin and Pemiscot Counties who are pregnant or postpartum. The project will promote recovery and wellness for women and their chil-dren with outreach, engagement, screenings, comprehensive assessment, substance use dis-orders counseling, and care coordination and linkage that meets their unique wellness needs. Dunklin and Pemiscot Counties have the highest infant mortality rate (IMR) in Missouri. FCC Behavioral Health is collaborating with the Dunklin and Pemiscot County Health De-partments, Bootheel Babies & Families, as well as a variety of community providers to re-duce infant mortality in our communities. Project outcomes include:

100% live, drug free births of participants at delivery 60% of participants will remain engaged in care for at least 90-days 75% of participants will remain abstinent from use during pregnancy 50% of participants will engage in self-help recovery efforts

The MFH award is $329,786 over two years. FCC will provide additional information as Pro-

ject WIN begins on July 1, 2016.
