Research is getting the top most priority in higher education today. College , an abode of Knowledge is expected to conduct genuine and high quality research which has impact on the society. Teaching and research complement each other, they should be synthesized so as to bring in relevance to the academic activity in the academia .
Management research institutes have the responsibility to imbibe the 'research culture' and should treat research activities as an investment rather than a cost.For undergoing high quality research and writing good research papers one requires to collect, interpret and logically document the information. The art of drawing coherent conclusions, supported by appropriate research tools and reference citation is vital for quality research work. The recent innovations in statistical applications, availability of statistical software's allow scholars/researchers to take more complex test, multilevel and dynamic models.
Jaipuria Institute of Management in its constant endeavor to improve management skills has initiated this movement to improve the quality of research. The FDP programme on Advanced Research Methods and Analytics will be a practical and interactive workshop aimed to develop an understanding in designing and carrying out research and guide students for research projects and dissertation This FDP will offer practical hands on approach to use data analysis tools, software packages through case examples, and skill building exercises. It will provide a comprehensive understanding of research methodology that can better equip faculty to effectively guide their own research and students’ research work. The programme aims to cover topics like Research design- Understanding the basic functions of research design like problem formulation, hypotheses making, sampling, literature survey, types of research- exploratory vs. confirmatory, data collection procedure, data editing, data analysis- analysis and design of experiments, inferential statistics, multivariate statistics, use of SPSS package for data analysis, report writing, paper writing for journals, thesis writing etc.

domains• To provide exposure to the participants to various Bi Variate and multi-variate methods in research and understand
advanced issues of research. Train researchers to draw better conclusion from the analysis• Guide researchers in writing a research paper• To develop the flair for reading & critiquing research articles.

DAY -1Review of Research Process, Formulating Objective. Model building from Review of Literature. Formulating Research Questionnaire . Sample Size Calculation, Sampling Techniques. Formulation of Hypothesis :Null and Alternative .
DAY-2Introduction to SPSS :-Preparation of Data files: Defining variables, Variable Types, Data Entry, Merging cases and variables .Data Sorting ,Data Screening: Insert variables, data editing ,Missing values ,outliers ,Category Merging. Hypothesis testing –Assumptions of Normality.
Introduction to statistical toolkit “What analysis to use when?” What are Parametric and Non Parametric techniques?Descriptive analysis- central tendency, dispersion and distributions. Inferential Analysis :-:-Z Test, One sample t test, independent sample t test, paired t test. Chi Square with case Study.
DAY-3 F –Test .One Way Anova .,Two Way –Anova, Post Hoc Test, Mann Whiteny, with Case study. Correlation analysis, partial correlation, non-parametric correlation with case study.
DAY-4 Predictive Modeling:- Linear Regression , Bivariate and Multivariate Regression Models . Heteroscedasticity, Autocorrelation and Multicollinearity. Logistic Regression with Case Study.
DAY-5 Forecasting :- Time Series Analysis : ARMA / ARIMA Models for forcasting and Testing for Unit Roots . Conditional Variance Models : ARCH / GARCH .
DAY-6 Data Reduction Technique : -Factor Analysis with case study. Factor Analysis . Cluster Analysis: Hierarchical and Non Hierarchical. Segmentation. Validation and Profiling Cluster using Chi-Square.Introduction to R and Installing and working with R.
DAY-7 Research Paper writing ,Plagiarism, Copy right, indexing and Citation of Journals Referencing and referencing styles .

TOPICS TO BE COVERED
PEDAGOGYA mix of pedagogical tools will be used- cases, lectures, discussions, presentations and experiential exercises. Hands on experience will be given on SPSSand MS-Excel. Participants will be provided with the relevant industry example data sets for the purpose of analysis in order to facilitate the experiential learning.
PROGRAMME CONTENTThe programme has been designed to focus on the theoretical and analytical tools and skills for the academicians and researchers to get an insight of the Advanced research Methods and Analytical tools.
Note :-Participants are advised to bring their personal laptops for hands-on sessional free trial version of SPSS will be loaded by us on their laptop.

FDP Accommodation Charges : `3500/- per participant including all meals for seven days. AC Rooms are available on Twin Sharing Basis .
