Task Four Feature Article
You will learn about the conventions of feature articles in order to be able to analyse andinterpret examples viewed in-class. You will also construct your own feature article on acurrent social, cultural or political issue of your choice.
You are also required to submit a paragraph outlining the purpose, audience and context ofyour feature article.
*You will need to choose a topic within 2 days of receiving this task sheet, otherwise a topic
will be chosen for you.
This task will assess yourWriting and Reading skills.
To do well in this task make sure you:
Demonstrate your understanding of how feature article conventions are employed toinform and persuade an audience
Research a current social, cultural or political issue on which to create your ownfeature article
Explain how you have used feature article conventions to achieve your purpose, aswell as explaining the context and audience for your feature article
Include relevant factual information in your article in the form of statistics, interviews,facts, tables etc.
Demonstrate effective planning, drafting and revising of your writing
Use correctly structured paragraphs to create a cohesive and clear article
Write with correct grammar and spelling, and use sentences effectively tocommunicate your ideas
