Palmyra’s Bicentennial Old Glory Day Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 15. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. on the Courthouse Square, and wrap up at 9 p.m.
A family fun day is planned. For the kids, Full Moon Farms from Pleasant Hill, Illinois, will offer a free petting zoo and $4 pony rides from 3 – 9 p.m. Rebel Pig is providing a bounce house. Just northwest of the courthouse at Big Spring Park, the Palmyra Heritage Seekers will host free old fashioned games. The North River Old Iron Club will have antique tractors on display on the East side of the Old Marion County Jail at the corner of Lafayette and Dickerson.
Bring your appetite. Offerings will include catfish, chicken on a stick, grilled tenderloin sandwiches, corn dogs, cozy spuds, fried cheese, ice cream, snowcones, and homemade
baked treats including pie. Browse the variety of vendor booths and check out the boutique clothing, jewelry, pewter art, pampering products, photos, totes and pet
