Down Time Due to Icing
How Often Does Icing Occur?
• Icing is a Significant Problem for Competitive 2” and 3” Pumps

Solution - Quick Dump™ Technology
• The End of the Ice Age
• Available on the Aro 1” to 3” EXP Diaphragm Pump. When the main valve
opens and pressurizes the diaphragm air chamber, the Quick Dump™ operates like a normal air passage and admits air into the diaphragm's air chamber
When the main valve exhausts, the Quick Dump™ diverts all of the cold/wet exhaust air coming from the diaphragm air chamber away from the main air valve

Solution - “Unstallable™” Air Valves
• ARO is still the sole owner of the technology and the title: Unstallable™
• ARO uses no magnets, springs, re-set buttons, or other secondary actuators
“Unbalanced" major air valve has constant air pressure applied to its small end. This assures that the pump resets. Competitive designs lose their signal during every shift, making them vulnerable to stalling.
To reverse the valve, air pressure is supplied to the larger end of the valve, allowing the valve to shift - note that constant air pressure continues to be applied to the small end.

Problem - Diaphragm Failure
• Competitive Non-Convoluted Diaphragms Fail Prematurely, Allowing Fluid to Enter the Pump’s Air Motor
• Use of Non-ARO Diaphragms Void the 5-Year Warranty
Off-brand replacement diaphragms wear prematurely. These Parts-pirate Teflon®
diaphragms have begun to separate

EXP Competitive Comparison
• Typical Cost of a Competitive Pump
– 1 Pump– 1 Failure / Mo. Over a 5-yr Life Cycle– Pump Failure = 1 hr. downtime– Average Downtime Cost $3,000/hr
In a Process Environment – Total cost of the Downtime = 180 000$– The Downtime cost represent 68% of the total cost
ownership
Downtime: 68%
