Much Ado About NothingMuch Ado About Nothing is a comedy set in Italy. It’s about men and women, love, pretence and disguises. It’s about how hatred can turn so easily into love, and love so easily into hatred. There’s a villain that messes it all up for everybody, but like all good stories, the heroes win through in the end. Despite claiming to be about nothing, the themes covered in Much Ado About Nothing - love, conflict, and appearance and reality - are serious and complex even though the play is a comedy.

Romeo and JulietIf you’ve heard of Romeo and Juliet, you’ll probably know that it is a play about love. It’s not all soppy nonsense though – there’s a good dose of duels, secret plots and tragic deaths too. The teenaged children of two warring families, Romeo and Juliet meet and fall in love. The play tells the story of their doomed attempts to be together. The most obvious theme in Romeo and Juliet is that of love, but Shakespeare invites us to also examine the importance of fate, death, honour, friendship and duality.
