The Alcatel-Lucent Instant Zone (IZO) is an application that enables mobile service providers to address hyper-

market segmentation by creating attractive tari packages based on the location o the subscriber. The Alcatel-

Lucent IZO is a key sotware component within the Alcatel-Lucent Convergent Payment solution. Alcatel-LucentConvergent Payment is an industry-leading, highly confgurable and proven solution with deployments by

210 service providers supporting more than 400 million subscribers worldwide.

TheAlcatel-LucentInstantZone(IZO)

allows mobile service providers to dene

key zones, such as home zones, regional

zones and yield zones, to support a

greater diversity o price plans or

currentandfuturesubscribers.For

example, when a mobile subscriber iswithin their home zone, the service

provider may choose to apply a dierent

rate, which translates to a ee equal

toorbetterthantheirxed-linerate

or the month; when the subscriber

is outside their designated zones,

the standard price plan would apply.

Similarly oce zones can be proposed

to enterprises; as enterprises may have

multiple oce locations, they may want

to have multiple zones dened as the

oce zone or their employees.

TheAlcatel-LucentIZOallowsservice

providers to support dened zones

or both voice and data services and to

support multiple zones per subscriber.

Zone Generator

The Zone Generator is an optional

unctional entity which can perorm

the zone denitions (links between

cells and zones) that are used by the

Zone Manager. This unction can
