2011 was a very busy year at the FAC. We finished a year of: Adopt-A-Community, had 2 tutorial agencies use our facility, housed over 100 HHH riders, served 17 funeral meals, Awanas, volleyball leagues and basketball practices. We also had participations in: ESL, banquets, Bible studies, bridge, children’s parties and the list goes on. We had the pleasure of seeing 28,639 people pass through the doors of the FAC. Please assist me in giving thanks to my much ap-preciated volunteers: Estelle Hefner, Nita Arey, Lee Whatley, Hank Behrens, Ar-lene Gibson & Linda Dixon. Also, a big thank you to the AAC teams and their faithfulness to that program. The recreation committee has also done a great job this past year. Continued thanks to: Danny Apple, Gary Diehm, Laney Oliver, Kel-vin Chellette, Chuck Brookins & Lee Whatley. There are so many things done be-hind the scenes to help make the FAC a great outreach. I appreciate all these people and what they have done in 2011. We are looking forward to a great 2012 and hope to see even more people volunteer and participate with the FAC!! Susan :)
Dear Lamar, We celebrate in February Lamar’s 100 year anniversary. It is amazing to think of all the people who have been moved by the Lord during those 100 years. How many saved? How much money given? How much time sacrificed for God’s glory? How many have been called to ministry from Lamar? How many Bible verses have been memorized? How many lessons taught? How many people have been baptized, discipled, and sent out into the mission field? How many visits made? How many weddings, births and funerals have taken place? It is overwhelming when you begin to think about it. In fact, it is so over-whelming we are left with only 1 conclusion: all of this happened because of the Lord’s work. He has been faithful to his word. He has been gracious to forgive. He has provided a million different times in millions of ways through thousands of people. Our God is great! His ways are higher! His thoughts are better! All we have comes from him alone. He alone gets the praise and thanksgiving for all that has happened at Lamar. The task before us is to work for God has placed us here for such a time as this. We do not know how long, we do not know how much sacrifice we will be called to make. But, based on the fact of the great cloud of witnesses gone before us, I know that we can follow that high calling. I know that someday we all long to be told ‘well done.’ In order for that goal to occur each one of us must find in the Lord our place of service and follow through for His glory! God bless, Pastor Mike
