The Eta Tau chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. made an
incredible impact at their Illinois District Convention by bringing home six
highly prestigious awards to Illinois State University.
Fraternity & Sorority Life is extremely proud of this impressive feat for the
men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In addition, we would like to send
out a special congrats to Jaylon Joyner for Winning Neophyte of the Year.
The partnership between the collegiate members of Eta Tau Chapter and
the Nu Psi Lambda Alumni Chapter is a shining example of a lifelong

Fraternity & Sorority
Life and Redbird
Athletics created a
partnership to
showcase Fraternal
Organizations in
Redbird Arena on
February 14th, 2015.
Fraternities and Sororities were to design a banner to enter the
competition which would be proudly displayed in Redbird Arena
capturing the attention of thousands of attendees.
Organizations were to be judged on overall banner design,
percentage of organization in attendance, and overall number of
attendees rallying the Redbirds against Wichita State University.
The game was televised on ESPN 2 and was attended by over 200
prospective students and families.
Sigma Chi and Chi Omega teamed up to create
the most spirited banner but ultimately it was
Sigma Chi that walked away with the title of
Greek Game 15 champions with an impressive 44
members in attendance!

A-Psi (Alpha Psi Lambda) week took place
February 16, 2015 through February 21,
2015.
The week consisted of events that
highlighted our fraternity’s eight
purposes and celebrated 30 years of achieve-
ment as a fraternity.
To start the week off, as a family, we hosted
a potluck where everyone was welcomed.
Our brothers and sisters dished out their
best cooking skills to bring together the
event. With a variety of entrees, desserts,
appetizers, and drinks, we were able to enjoy
our time as a familia along with everyone
who accompanied us. We enjoyed our meal
to some Latin background music.
Always making it feel like a home away from home; Alpha Psi Lambda holds true to the value
that we place on our familial ties and
relationship with our campus commu-
nity.
Another one of our events that was a
success was a social that we hosted with
Delta Phi Lambda Sorority Inc., our MGC
counterparts. Together we organized a
series of games and team builders to do
with everyone who joined us.
The activities challenged us to work in
teams with new friends while having a good time. Events like this truly show what Alpha Psi Lambda
is all about; a loving, caring, outgoing familia.
We thank those members of other organizations who supported our event. Keep on the look-
out for future events. You will not want to miss out!

“Ding Ding Ding! Delta Zeta Rings In Founder’s Day” By: Katie Sall, President, Delta Zeta
It is with great honor that the Lambda Rho chapter of Delta Zeta had two incredible representatives taking part
in the 158th annual founders day bell ringing ceremony on Thursday February 19, 2015. Illinois State University,
the first public university of Illinois, has been an outstanding landmark of academic achievement and
opportunity that both of these women have thoroughly taken advantage of.
Ellen Hogan, a senior special education major, is on the verge of
graduation. She has been involved on campus in a variety of ways,
ranging from being a preview guide to incoming freshman to serving
as the Vice President of Public Relations on CPC.
Heather Winfrey-Richman is a proud alumni from ISU and is still
enjoying her time on campus in many ways. She can be found on
campus either working in the Mennonite School of Nursing as the
Assistant to the Associate Dean and Academics Special Project
Manager. The rest of her time is graciously spent volunteering for
Delta Zeta by being the local college chapter director.
Congratulations to these two sorority women on having the
chance to represent not only Delta Zeta, but also the entire
Panhellenic community and university.
The Zeta Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi attended their District Leadership Conference on the weekend of February 19, 2015 to February 23, 2015. Zeta Theta sent fourteen officers and one advisor to this yearly conference to help transition officers into their positions and give them leader-ship techniques they can use throughout their term.
During this conference Zeta Theta received ten out of the fourteen awards. Some of these awards include high marks in scholarship, finance management, membership education, community service, and overall chapter involvement. Zeta Theta is very honored and excited to have been awarded these awards.

The women of Zeta Tau Alpha have been busy spreading awareness about Breast Cancer with the ISU Women’s Basketball Team. Together, they co-hosted a game that was breast cancer awareness themed on February 8, 2015.
Two hours before the game Zeta Tau Alpha members ar-rived at Red Bird Arena to pass out breast cancer awareness ribbons to game attendees.
This event allowed the public to witness Zeta’s passion for the cause and the sisterhood within the chapter.
During halftime we asked members of the audience who had sur-vived breast cancer to report to the court. The survivors were able to walk in a pa-rade in celebration of beating cancer. Each group of survivors were lead by a member of Zeta who held a sign that said how many years they had been cancer free.
This game was very important to the members of the chapter be-cause breast cancer awareness is Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy. Another reason it was significant was because it was one of the last games, member Katy Winge, would play in front of her sis-ters.
A few weeks later on February 22, 2015 Winge had her last game at Redbird Arena. Her time as a Redbird was acknowledged and celebrated by teammates, Zeta Tau Alpha and the community. Winge played all four years of college, earned the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honorable mention during her senior year, was Zeta’s historian for two years and has maintained a 3.8 GPA.

On February 6, 2015 the men of
Acacia fraternity set out to celebrate one
of their biggest accomplishments yet—
chartering.
For those unfamiliar with the notion, a
charter is a fraternal artifact that
announces that a particular colony has
prospered and met its goals as set out
by the national organization. Typically,
fraternities look for evidence of sustain-
ability, positive membership develop-
ment, academic excellence and a dedi-
cation to living by their core values.
Thus the members in that organization
are due full membership and rights as
dictated by the national organization
and their names are etched into their
fraternity history as founding fathers.
Congrats to the founding fathers of the Illinois State Chapter of ACACIA Fraternity:
Fraternity and Sorority Life congratulates Acacia for their new
charter! We couldn’t be more proud of these men and are anxious to
see what they have in store for the fraternal community!

Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity hosted a very
successful blood drive at Redbird Arena
on February 16, 2015.
The fraternity welcomed countless Illi-
nois State University students, faculty,
and staff to Redbird Arena in an effort to
support Pi Kappa Phi’s national philan-
thropy, The Ability Experience and The
American Red Cross.
The fraternity was even recognized by
Young America Realty for being the third
registered organization to sign leases
with their company. They were awarded
$500 dollars.
In the spirit of philanthropy, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity donated half of
their award to The Ability Experience and the other half to Make-A-
Wish Foundation, on behalf of the women of Chi Omega Sorority.
Fraternity and Sorority Life is extremely proud of these
gentlemen for going above and beyond their call to serve their
community.
