South Lake Elementary School

South Lake Drama Club students recited poems that celebrated the rich tradition of African American poetry. Hats off for such an excellent performance!

South Lake Dance Club - Ballet dancers presented a variety of dances that expressed elegance and integrated poetry.

Drama Club - Recited “power” in captured words that send hearts soaring and brought tears to our eyes.

Our beautiful dancers waited patiently with excitement and enthusiasm.

I told my story in song and poetry.

The beauty is the act of saying it.

Our dancers were very fluid as they soared in the air. That’s it girls, you are beautiful!

These outstanding ballet dancers filled our hearts with joy! Teamwork! Teamwork!

Look at me! “I can do this and so can you!”

We are a team!!!

Poetry in motion!

We can out dance the swans, “Bring it on!”

“Stop! Wait! We will show you what we can do…. yes!”

Yes! We held our audience captive!

Welcome, Harriet Tubman and George Washington Carver!

All Dreams are Possible!

We know you can do it!

Our families are enjoyed the drama and dance performances.

Ms. Sultan was ready to share American spirituals with South Lake families.

Ms. Sultan and Ms. Bowers engaged our students in music, singing, and playing instruments.

Third grade students created a hall of fame with their “Guess Who” projects.

Our talented first grade students sang many special songs; voices filled with glee!

First graders led by Ms. Barth and Ms. Geros shared their voices and pride.

Fifth grader, Ryan shared his report on Malcolm X.

Fifth grade students, Valerie and Maira researched and presented on Rosa Parks and Wilma Rudolph.

Vanessa researched Ida B. Wells.

Kenny and Jayden researched Harriet Tubman and Barack Obama.

Ms. Clarke shared precious antiques with our families.

An array of different antiques used to clean the home.

Students carefully read all the descriptors for the “Guess Who” projects.
