President’s Report February 2020
Hello to all club members.
February has been quite a busy month already for the National Committee, as we held our
meeting down the Gold Coast and met up with the staff from the Motel and Sports and
Leisure Centre. It was very eventful and have finally nutted out a few things with the Motel
and Sports and Leisure Centre and are now in the process of choosing our logo, design for
the shirts and all the merchandise. There have been a few draft designs on the table and it is
becoming quite difficult as the drafts have been excellent.
We are also preparing for the National Delegates to come and view the venues in May, so
once this has been completed, we can then open up registration. Miss Sunshine (Helen
Burley) has been busy creating a Facebook page for our Nationals so go onto our page 19th
Falcon GT Nationals Gold Coast 2021 and like us. This page will keep you all up to date
with what has been happening and any upcoming events. As the Nationals are just over 1
year away all club member should be thinking about getting your vehicles ready for the Gold
Coast Nationals 2021. Time is flying by.
Our January run was the Geoff Connor memorial run. Unfortunately, Sharron and I had
another prior engagement so we couldn’t make it. But looking at the photos on our club
Facebook page we had a very good turnout. Thank you once again to Jarrod Bonney for
looking after this run.
Our club run this month is to Bribie Island. Club will be supplying lunch for this event but
remember to bring a long your togs, towels and chairs/blankets and your drinks. More details
in newsletter.
Don’t forget if you want to assist and be on the All Ford Day committee please see one of the
committee members. They would only be too happy to take your name down for this year’s
show in July.
Sharron and I would like to send our condolences to Mark and Tammy Van Der Togt and
family on the passing of Mark’s Mum who passed away on 7th February 2020. May she rest
in peace and remember she will always be in your hearts forever. .
So enclosing if you can’t make this meeting you can contact me by mobile, home or by email
[email protected] with any suggestions, complaints or compliments
regarding the club.
See you all there.
Cheers for now.
Mick.

“Australia Day Run”
Good day, great turn up a bit muggy but we were given a shady spot
near the trees in the second yard. Sorry didn’t to take any other pictures
of the event. A few of the ladies went to the garage sale across the road
and bought stuff. Also some of our members won prices in the raffle,
still nice to support Australia Day.
Condolences To
Mark Van Der Togt His wife Tammy and families. At the loss of
Mark’s mother just recently. Our thoughts are with you
ATTENTION!!! To all those members that attend the Hervey Bay May long weekend run, could
you please confirm your attendance with your motels. If you are unable to make
it this year please contact Jo Taylor but only if you are staying in the Hervey Bay
Motel as there are members that would like to go. Your room can be rebooked
for 2021 in your name if you like. Also the Motel has be bought by the RSL
Club, but is has been explained that we are long standing attendees. One of our
club members is in charge of the motel Jason Lynch, Jason moved to the Bay a
few years ago and is a manager at the RSL. He has also informed me that they
own the Baysview down the road and anyone that stays at either gets 20%
discount on meals.
Happy 70th Birthday

good condition. I also need a dark brown XB centre console in good condition that has had
the front trimmed so it fits in with the Ford Selectair under dash air conditioner. These were
most commonly found in ZG Fairlane’s. I live in Toowoomba and can travel to Brisbane,
North or South coast to inspect. Phone Paul 0411281205
