The Women's Titus 2 ministry provides a way for women to connect, build relationships, grow spiritually, and find a safe place to share life, receive encouragement, and be helped to live out of the truths of the gospel every day. This is done through small groups of up to 6 women, led by a facilitator, who meet once a month throughout the year to work through a women's study. Each group also meets periodically for social get-togethers like a walk at the park, time at Longwood Gardens, or a game or craft night.

Beginning in April the following groups are available:

• 1st Tuesday from 1:00-3:00 meeting via zoom for now. When able, will rotate meeting in homes in the Oxford, Landenberg, Newark area - will meet for one year.

• 2nd Tuesday from 7:00-8:30 at Cornerstone - will meet for one year. • 3rd Monday from 7:00-8:30 at Cornerstone - will meet for three years. For more information email: [email protected].

Praise & Prayer Night - Please invite your friends and neighbors and join us for a night of Praise & Prayer Friday, March 12th at 7:00pm! Come rest in God's presence, be encouraged, and bring your prayer concerns.

Lent is a special time of year where we pay particular attention to the death and resurrection of Jesus. This Lent we want to invite you to join us in memorizing some of (or all of!!!) Romans 8:28-39. This passage is a powerful reflection on how the love of Jesus carries us through hardship to make us MORE THAN CONQUERORS through Christ. If you are ready to join us, here is what we are asking you to do:

Use this QR code to sign up to let us know you are participating.

Start memorizing. We encourage you to memorize the passage in the ESV (English Standard Version). If you are working on the entire passage, here is a suggested schedule:

February 21-28 Romans 8:28-29 March 1 -7 Romans 8:30-31 March 8-14 Romans 8:32-34 March 15-21 Romans 8:35-36 March 22-28 Romans 8:37-39

Holding your phones horizontally record and post a video, (like we did with Psalm 91) of you/family/friends reciting the memory verses for that week. We are requesting that you post it on our Facebook page as well as the Google folder the QR code to the right gives you access. We will be using the videos from the folder to make a compilation video each week. The more videos we get, the better it will be!

Judy Clement: Pray for resolution to the bleeding in her stomach and for wisdom for the doctors treating her.

Anita Samis: Please continue to pray for her fractured ankle since it has not shown much healing.

Dave Byers, Ryan Byers’ Father: Dave was diagnosed with advanced cancer of the appendix and the surrounding muscles. The tumor is pressing on the spine. Pray that the side effects of chemo will diminish and for pain relief. Pray that in-home care arrangements can be arranged, and that the tumor will respond to treatment. Keep the Byers family in your prayers.

Bruce Boone: Bruce is struggling with GI issues. Pray that he will get stronger and get over the Covid-19 symptoms. He is thankful for our prayers and God's daily comfort.

Jed Todd: Continue to pray for Jed's recovery from major cancer surgery. He’s had a very challenging week but on track with recovery. He is expected to be in the ICU up to 7 more days. You can keep up to date with his progress at https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jedtodd.

Terry Neale: Praise the Lord. Terry has been feeling much better and started eating soft foods this week. She hasn't vomited in four days. Last Monday she had some scrambled eggs for the first time since July. Thanks for the prayers.

Paul Goes to Athens Acts 17:16-21 16 Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols. 17 So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there. 18 Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also conversed with him. And some said, “What does this babbler wish to say?” Others said, “He seems to be a preacher of foreign divinities”—because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection. 19 And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? 20 For you bring some strange things to our ears. We wish to know therefore what these things mean.” 21 Now all the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there would spend their time in nothing except telling or hearing something new.

1. What tends to be your default reaction to the culture around you – (1) fleeing from the world (2) fighting against the world? What is good and bad about each position?

2. In what way does Paul model a third way of engaging culture that is neither complete withdrawal nor unnecessarily combative?

3. As Paul tours Athens he is struck by the number of idols he encounters. While we don’t have statues to our idols today, what do you think are some of the idols our culture tends to worship?

4. Why is it important to be able to identify cultural idols? What is at stake if we remain blind to these idols?

5. Paul shared his faith in the synagogue and in the marketplace. How should Christians think about sharing their faith in the marketplace today? Is it right to think about our faith only as a private matter?

6. What opportunities do you have (or do you want to have) to share your faith with others?
