Thank You from St. Mary’s Respect Life Thanks to your generosity, our parish raised over $12,000.00 in our “Bottle Drive”. This money will help with the expansion of Aid to Women Center, which will allow the clinic to serve more women who are at risk of aborting their babies. It will also allow us to continue providing the diapers that St. Vincent de Paul distributes. We have written checks to national and local organizations that educate our young people about abortion and have sent donations to those organizations that fight in the legislative arena to enact laws that protect life.
Our Advent Giving Tree was also a great success. We delivered several van loads of supplies to The Hannah House, The Elizabeth House, Aid to Women Center and St. Vincent de Paul.

This Little Light of Mine As children we sang the lively song This Little Light of Mine. The words, of course, are based on today’s Gospel, in which we are called as disciples to be salt and light for the world. Children are uninhibited about sharing their faith. It’s only when we grow older that we prefer to hide our light under a bushel basket because our culture tends not to emphasize discipleship. The message in this week’s readings is clear: in order to give glory to God through our discipleship, we must show the light of Christ in our words and deeds. Not an easy thing for inhibited adults. Often we may think of salt and light in terms of what we do for others, but it can be just as important not to do something, such as getting angry with the stranger on the road, or telling an offensive joke.

Gracias a su generosidad, nuestra parroquia recaudó más de $12,000.00 en nuestra colecta de “Biberones”. Este dinero ayudará con la expansión del Centro de Ayuda a las Mujeres,y permitirá que la clínica sirva a más mujeres que corren el riesgo de abortar a sus bebés. También nos permitirá continuar proporcionando los pañales que San Vicente de Paúl distribuye. Hemos escrito cheques a organizaciones nacionales y locales que educan a nuestros jóvenes sobre el aborto y han enviado donaciones a aquellas organizaciones que luchan en el ámbito legislativo para promulgar leyes que protejan la vida. Nuestro Árbol de Adviento también fue un gran éxito. Entregamos varias cargas de suministros a la casa de Hannah, la casa de Elizabeth, centro de ayuda a las mujeres y San Vicente de Paul. Reducción de la Matrícula Católica Para los padres de familia que inscriben sus hijos para el año escolar 2017-2018, por favor tengan en cuenta lo siguiente: para recibir una reducción de la Taza de Matricula Católica de la escuela, su párroco deberá determinar si su familia cumple con el criterio definido por la parroquia sobre miembros Inscritos, Activos y Participando.
