Jennifer Cogswell

Jennifer Leigh Cogswell has attended Texoma Christian School for the past fifteen years, since

Pre-K Three. Throughout her high school career, she has participated in volleyball, basketball, track, and was manager for the softball team. She has participated in TAPPS Piano and Photography and Student Council. She is a member of Sisters in Service and National Honor Society, and has gone on TCS mission trips to Colorado Springs, Houston and Nashville.

Outside of school, Jennifer had the opportunity to work with Kanakuk Kamps in Missouri. She has also attended this same camp for the past ten summers. She said that she has had the privilege to have grown up attending First Baptist Church in Sherman. Her hobbies include playing the piano, photography, writing, and being with her friends.

Some of Jennifer’s favorite memories of her days at TCS include spending time with her friends. Whether it be in the classroom, on the road to a game, or just off campus, she finds that her favorite times have been the presence of her TCS family.

When asked who has been influential in her life during her school years, Jennifer said, “Needless to say, my family has always been my greatest supporters. They and my closest friends have been truly instrumental in making me who I am today. On the other hand, my life wouldn’t be the same without Coach Chaffin and her encouragement, Coach Ellison and his voice, Coach Langenbahn and his jokes, Coach Barnett and her stability, and all of my elementary teachers who have shown me what it means to be patient. As for high school, Mrs. Bryson’s kindness and Mr. Strauch’s wisdom have been very influential. A special thanks to Mrs. Williams for her mentorship and example that will always leave an impact on my life.

Following high school, Jennifer plans to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She plans to major in Human Development and Family Sciences, taking some marketing and photography classes along the way.

Jennifer has two life verses which are 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, which says, “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” and 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, which says, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love”.

Jennifer’s advice to future high school seniors is, “Enjoy the moment and be present in it. As someone once said, life moves pretty fast - if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
