Event Information:The Hope for Hearts Casino Night is the largest charity event benefiting congenital heart defects (CHD) in Washington, D.C. The 10th Annual Hope for Hearts Casino Night is sure to be our best event yet. We will bring together over 300 supporters, sponsors and family members of those affected by congenital heart defects for an evening of great food and drink, dancing and exciting casino action!

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hope Marietta Foundation in our efforts to create CHD awareness and to help area families who are affected by the country’s most common birth defect. Your support will brighten the lives of the children fighting congenital heart defects every day.

In addition to helping the Hope Marietta Foundation fight congenital heart defects, Hope for Hearts Casino Night supporters will be recognized on our Facebook page of over 1,400 fans, direct mailing list of 2,100 supporters and recognition on all event marketing materials. Past events have received coverage from TBD TV, the Washington Examiner and Bisnow’s The Scene.

The Foundation:The Hope Marietta Foundation was founded in 2009 in memory of Hope Marietta Armiger who passed away shortly after birth as a result of complex congenital heart defects. We provide emotional and financial support for families battling CHD and provide the children affected by them with the special experiences that every kid deserves.

ABOUT THE HOPE MARIETTA FOUNDATIONThe Hope Marietta Foundation is a Washington, DC based charity formed to raise funds and awareness for congenital heart defects as well as to assist and support the families and victims of the most common children’s birth defect in America.

Our Queen of Hearts this year has given new meaning to the words “strength” and “determination.” Born with an extremely complex Congenital Heart Defect, she spent most of her first year of life in the hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries and treatments, with her doctors ultimately deciding that she would need a heart transplant. Seven months later, she received her miracle heart and was able to come home in May 2018. Tessa exemplifies the fighting spirit, and her family has shown the love and devotion, that make her our 2019 Queen of Hearts.

Our King of Hearts this year, Asa, has been involved with the Hope Marietta Foundation for some time now. Asa has had multiple surgeries to correct his CHD, and hasn’t let them slow him down at all. He plays soccer, practices Kempo, and loves going to summer camp at Camp Heartbeat! Our King is known to some as the “Great Creator” for his drawing and inventions, and Asa truly exemplifies the joy, kindness, and strength we see in so many CHD children. We’re proud to crown him as our 2019 King of Hearts!
