• UNISA PRESENTED 2 SEMINARS ON POLICE BRUTALITY AND POLICING OF
PUBLIC GATHERINGS/PROTEST MARCHES TO STUDENTS IN 2015 .
• 2 WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP SEMINARS PRESENTED.
• REGULAR STUDENT DEBATES ON SPECIALIZED INVESTIGATION METHODS .
• CURRICULUM FOR SAPS BACHELOR OF ARTS IN POLICE SCIENCE

KEY OBJECTIVE 4 ESTABLISH AN OPTIMAL CAMPUS FOR SAPS ACADEMY PAARL WITH APPROPRIATE ADMINISTRATIVE AND INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT
PROGRESS MADE • A FULL AUDIT OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND RESOURCES WAS CONDUCTED
• LIBRARY ACTION PLAN IMPLEMENTED, LIBRARY 90% COMPLETED
• ICT PROJECT PLAN DEVELOPED, 60% COMPLETED.
• SAPS ACADEMY REGISTERED AS UNISA EXAM CENTRE FOR EXCLUSIVE
UTILIZATION BY SAPS MEMBERS
• SAPS STUDENT COUNCIL ESTABLISHED
KEY OBJECTIVE 5 TRANSFER SKILLS AND BUILD TRAINER/FACILITATOR/TUTOR CAPACITY
PROGRESS • 11 MEMBERS ARE REGISTERED WITH UNISA AS TUTORS AND ARE
PRESENTING THE BAPS TO POLICE STUDENTS.
• 16 TRAINERS ARE ENROLLED FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND POST GRADUATE

• SKILLS AUDIT COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED TO UNISA.
• UNISA STILL TO PROVIDE SAPS WITH A DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR TUTORS AND
ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL IN THE ACADEMY
• AN ADDITIONAL 8 POSTS WERE ADVERTISED FOR TUTORS IN ENGLISH,
SOCIOLOGY AND CRIMINOLOGY.
• 8 TUTORS ATTENDED A CONFERENCE ON CRIMINOLOGY AND VICTIMOLOGY BY
CRIMINOLOGY SOUTH AFRICA (CRIMSA)
