how to wear your t-shirts
Citation preview
Fellas can people see your meat n potatoes when you’re wearing a t-shirt? If they unfortunately can then it’s probably for 1 of the following 3 reasons…
1. Either you’re genetically and physically, exceptionally lucky (in which case I can’t help you).
2. You’ve been super busy, starting work early and getting dressed in the dark which means you haven’t had a proper chance to have a good look at what you’re wearing Or…
3. Some lazy arsed pimple faced teenager (who didn’t give a shit) told you that you looked “bloody great mate”, when you walked out of the change rooms looking like you borrowed your little sisters gym t shirt.
Well most of you probably know that it’s a pretty rude look to have the family jewels bunched up and proudly on display in the front of your jeans…but if you are in the unlucky minority who fell into one of the three categories above then I’ve got some things to help get you back on track (by the way, shame on your mates for not giving you the good word).
But firstly just to clarify…I’m no fashion guru, queer eye, rockstar, C grade celebrity, nor am I the coolest bloke you’ve ever seen. However, weekly I look at over 100 fashion blogs, around 10 fashion mags & probably 50 other fashion websites… as well I travel around the globe 4-‐6 times a year – just to go shopping.
Why?
Because I’ve got a frail little ego that tends to indulge in self image a little more than others….and… I’ve got a super sweet job making clothes and it would be a waste for me to do all this research and not pass the knowledge on to you.
So here are the 5 most important things you need to look for when buying your next t-‐shirt…
1. Length – it’s all about length these days…and you’re gunna need more than you expect! The right length to go for is a tee that covers your meat n potatoes….so crotch length is spot on. Of course you want the t shape to fit the rest of your body…not like an asian style death grip prophylactic, but a comfortable relaxed fit. It might take a few wears to get used to this new look, but once you do you’ll feel naked wearing anything shorter. Here’s an example
2. Colours – white, grey, blues and a washed out black are your staples with the trending colours for guys this summer for being a washed out maroon, an old army green and some muted tones like a dirty smoke colour.
3. Print or no print? There has defiantly been a massive shift towards plainer t-‐shirts. However if you’re going to go for a print I’d go something simple like a photographic print, or even something hand
drawn or vintage inspired. Stay away from the big clean sporting emblem looking things that are plastered front back and sleeve. They went out with mullets and the thongs n jeans look.
4. Detailing –raw edging on both the hem and sleeve is the spice with the added kick… its what you’d get if Mad Max & Tyler Durden (B Pitt -‐ Fight Club) punched out a tee shirt line.
5. Fabric – 100% cotton is best for summer, and go for something that is a lighter weight with an open knit construction.
So that’s the long and the short of it. And make sure you remember these guidelines when you’re buying your next t-‐shirt.
To help you out I’m also giving you a $20 voucher to use when buying your next t-shirt. Which means you can grab a tee for just $39.
So just tear off the voucher at the bottom of the page and take it to the St.Lenny store on Chapel Street.
Also note the offer is valid for 2 weeks and we only carry approximately 20 tees per style and fashion journals circulation is approximately 15,000
In addition when you buy a tee and sign up to our database you’ll get your
The St.Lenny Store is located at 399 Chapel Street, South Yarra..ph 9827 2950.
