FALL FEST SERVICE HOURS The Sign Up Genius for Fall Festival shifts will close tomorrow - Tuesday at 5pm. Don't forget to sign up to work your required 4 festival hours if you haven't done so yet. See the instructions flier for details on how to access the Sign Up Genius New This Year: *Four Fall Festival Hours (not six as in previous years) are required for families on Service Plans A and C. Hours worked beyond the required 4 will be counted towards regular school service hours. Also, festival hours have changed to 4:00 to 10:00 pm. If you have questions about Fall Fest service hour opportunities, please email Virginia Napierala or Sandra Guerra at [email protected]. *Set up and Tear Down are 6-hour shifts. Four hours will be applied to Fall Fest service hours, remaining hours will be applied to school service hours. The full 6 hours need to be worked to receive double hours. OPPORTUNITY DRAWING All families should have received their tickets to sell for the Fall Fest Opportunity Drawing. Tickets were sent home with the youngest family child K-5 in last week’s blue folder. If your youngest child is in 6-8 your tickets were mailed to you. If you haven't received your tickets, please contact Stacey Pereira [email protected]. Reminder all tuition A and C families are required to sell $120.00 worth of tickets.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS Do you have an artistic high school student who needs volunteer hours for their school? Do they enjoy Face Painting? If so, then the Fall Fest could use their help! Please contact Kimberly Crowley at [email protected] for more information.

Game Booth Captains Fall Fest needs 4 more fabulous Game Booth Captains! Come work in one of our super fun game booths, and earn school service hours. Booth Captains will earn 4 Fall Fest hours and 6 school service hours. Shifts are from 3:00 to 10:00 pm. Email Lou Poblano, [email protected], or Kimberly Crowley, [email protected], for more information. These shifts will go fast, so sign up before Sign Up Genius goes live on Tuesday, October 3. DONATE BINGO PRIZES—Win Valuable Hours Did you know that a gift card of $25 donated to Fall Fest Bingo equals one regular service hour? Gift cards will be used as prizes or to purchase items to be used as prizes. If you plan to purchase a gift card to donate, please consider Best Buy. We can use Best Buy gift cards to purchase a tablet or other electronic device. Otherwise, search your kitchen or office desk drawers for gift cards you may have forgotten! FALL FEST SERVICE HOURS Please take the time to read through the two separate flyers on “Important Things You Need to Know Regarding Service Hours Sign Up” and “Baking Hours/Confetti Eggs Information” in today’s school packet.

New This Year: Four Fall Festival Hours (not six as in previous years) are required for families on Service Plans A and C. Hours worked beyond the required 4 will be counted towards Regular School Service Hours. Also, the Festival Hours have changed to 4:00 to 10:00 pm. If you have any questions about Fall Festival Service Hour Opportunities, then please email Virginia Napierala or Sandra Guerra at [email protected]. All interested in helping out in a Fall Festival Leadership Role are encouraged to attend our Monday night meetings. The next meeting will be this evening at 7:00 pm in the Parish Ministry Building, Room 3. SPAS Fall Festival provides families an opportunity to work together, get to know each other, and raise needed funds for our school. Fall Festival raises close to $80,000, which goes towards SPAS operating costs, including the costs of our arts and music programs, sports, and academic decathlon, along with many other school needs.

Fall Fest ’17 Epic Entertainment!

THE SMOKIN’ COBR AS have been a vital part of the LA music scene for many rockin’ years, performing the greatest dance hits of early Rock and Pop’s founding

icons. Timeless music. Endless passion. A high octane show for all ages. From Tokyo to Dodger Stadium, The Smokin Cobras are retro rockin’ the new millennium.

Fall Fest ’17 offers a little something for everyone. Although Fall Fest won’t feature a “Variety Show” this year, there will be a variety of entertainment options for kids and adults. Karaoke lovers can belt out their favorite songs with Chirp Mobile. For those who don’t sing, but like great music, The Smokin’ Cobras will rock their world! Dancers in the house? DJ Lionel Mabasa will turn up the music to get the party started! Don’t miss out on the EPIC entertainment at St. Philip’s Fall Fest ’17.

Kids and adults can showcase their singing talent at CHIRP MOBILE! LIONEL MABASA of Next Level Entertainment started

his DJ career on turntables in the late 90’s. It was during that era he Deejayed many of the local catholic high schools in the Los Angeles area. From there he was the radio host of KUCI

88.9 College radio at the University of California Irvine where he continued to spin at many of the college parties/clubs. After college Lionel started Next Level Entertainment specializing in private events, weddings and local night clubs. Although Lionel has been officially retired for some time, he does come out for special occasions such as our Fall Fest where he will be rockin’

an eclectic mix of old & new school hits!

BAKING  HOURS  AND  CONFETTI  EGGS  INFORMATION:  BAKING  HOURS:  Only  2  Festival  hours  will  be  given  for  Baking.    There  will  be  50  slots  available  on  Sign-­‐up  Genius.    Once  those  slots  are  filled,  there  will  be  75  slots  available  for  Regular  School  Hours  on  a  separate  Sign-­‐up  Genius.    Instructions  will  be  in  the  September  25,  and  October  2  Weekly  Packet.        

BAKING  GUIDELINES  TO  EARN  EITHER  THE  FESTIVAL  HOURS  OR  SCHOOL  HOURS  ARE  AS  FOLLOWS:    

EACH  ITEM  WILL  COUNT  AS  2  SERVICE  HOURS:  

4  DOZEN  COOKIES  

4  DOZEN  BROWNIES  

4  DOZEN  CUPCAKES  

2  CAKES  

2  PIES  

4  Quick  Bread  Loaves  (e.g.  banana  bread,  zucchini  bread,  and  etc.)  

4  DOZEN  RICE  KRISPY  TREATS  

*Sweets  Booth  Captains  will  be  in  touch  with  all  bakers  to  confirm  baked  goods.      

2)  CONFETTI  EGGS:    Confetti  eggs  will  only  count  for  REGULAR  School  hours,  NOT  Fall  Fest  hours.    The  Eggs  must  be  turned  in  between  2  pm  and  4  pm  to  the  Novelty  Booth  on  the  day  of  the  Festival.    ALL  eggs  must  be  FILLED  with  paper  confetti  (no  Mylar,  please).    Unfilled  eggs  will  NOT  be  accepted.  3  Dozen  Confetti  Eggs  =  1  Regular  Service  Hour.    No  limit  to  the  number  of  eggs  donated,  so  start  saving  them  now!
