Lectionary Homiletics"Lectionary Homiletics" is a bi-monthly print journal that is based on the Revised Common Lectionary. The journal was designed to give preachers a resource by providing them with commentary on upcoming readings in the litur-gical schedule. The articles go into depth explaining the readings and applying them to arts, theology, preaching and prayer related to the text. It is produced, printed and mailed out to subscribers six times a year. It gets turned into online articles on the goodpreacher.com website where some of the content is free, but subscribers can ac-cess the full site.
GoodPreacher.comGoodPreacher.com is the website that has everything a preacher needs: Exegesis, Theological Themes, Pastoral Implications, Lesson and the Arts, Sermon Reviews, Scrip-ture and Screen, Preaching the Lesson, Prayers for Worship and much more! Plus outstanding sermons by the world’s best preachers! Featuring 60 or more articles every Sunday, new content is being loaded every day, all for less than $1 per week.
Festival of HomileticsIn its 22nd year, Festival of Homiletics began in 1992 with a gathering of 400 pastors from around the country for the purpose of learning and conversing about preaching in contemporary context. The Rev. David Howell, an or-dained minister in the Presbyterian Church, created the festival as an extension of his preaching journal "Lectionary Homiletics."
Festival of Homiletics is a weeklong conference that brings together a wide variety of outstanding preachers and pro-fessors of homiletics to inspire a discourse about preach-ing, worship and culture. Its goal is to engage theologically the practices of preaching and worship, as well as issues related to congregations in the 21st century. Individual preachers are invited to consider various styles and meth-odologies of preaching in the hopes that they will renew their faith and refresh their spirits through engaging wor-ship, lectures and workshops. Throughout the week we aim to inspire preachers in their roles of proclaiming the gospel.
Speakers this year are: Barbara Brown Taylor, Walter Brueggeman, William Willimon, Michael Curry, Brian McLaren, Anna Carter Florence, David Lose, Craig Barnes, Karoline Lewis, Lillian Daniel, Grace Imathiu, John Bell, Peter Rollins, Angela Hancock, Yvette Flunder, Mike Slaughter and many more!
