NOTIFICATION

Sub: Guidelines for admission in 2nd Year (3'd Semester) of Under Graduate LevelEngineering & Technology programme through decentralized counseling process underLateral Entry Scheme of AICTE for the academic year 2016-17.

Whereas, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), vi<Je NotificationNo.WBE/CN-O55-16 dated 24.08.2016 has already published the necessary Guidelines for admissionto 2nd Year (3'd Semester) of under graduate level Engineering & Technology Programmes in theacademic year2016-17 throughthe State Common Entrance Examination forthe said program (i.e.JELET-2O16).

And

Whereas, in the said Guidelines the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) hasalready notified necessary venue, period of counseling, application procedure, counseling fee,eligibility criteria, reservation policy as well as other relevant information towards admission

Year (3'o Semester) of under graduate level Engineering & Technology Prograrnmes in the academicyear 2016-17.

And

Whereas in the said guidelines it has been mentioned that candidates will be required to takeadmission to the allotted University i lnstitutes within five days from the date of allotment.

And

Whereas it has been observed that some seats in the second year level are still vacant after thecompletion of such allotment and admission process in different participating Universities ?rrdInstitutes of the State offering under graduate level Engineering & Technology prugru--.r.

And

Now, therefore it is clarified that on completion of the centralized counseling and admission process,the participating Universities and Institutes of the State may pursue the admission procedure in theUnder graduate level Engineering & Technology Programmes in the Universities and Institutes asnotified here under :

1,The seats remaining vacanr in the second year level will be open for admission throughdecenttalized counseling fbr diploma holder students in Engineering & Technology programmes aswell as B.Sc' passed students following the same guidelines in tenris of eligibility.rit.riu fo,different Universities and Institutes.

2' The participating Universities and Institutes willing to admit students through such decen tralized.counseling process shall have to follow a complete transparent admission procedure invitingapplication from the intending diploma holder students in Engineering & iechnology progr:ammesfrom AICTE approved Institutions as well as B.Sc. passed students from UGC Recognizedinstitutions by posting necessary notice. as against declared vacancy position by theUniversity/lnstitutes in respect of the said programmes. in their respettiue Notice Board and/or theInstitutional website.

3' The candidates will be offered the said vacant seats in the following order of preference:

a) Candidates with JELE'T-2016 Rank who are otherwise eligible for admission to 2nd year of undergraduate level programmes in Engineering & Technology courses as per the Norms andGuidelines provided by the AICTE will be given the first preference. Admission must be madestrictly on merit and preference.

b) Candidates with diploma in Engineering & Technology from AICTE approved institutions whoare otherwise eligible for admission under the scheme, will be given the second preference.

c) Candidates with B.Sc. degree from UGC Recognized Institutions who are otherwise eligible foradmission under the scheme, will be given the next preference.

4' For the candidates under the category 3(a) and (b) the list of equivalent disciplines as givenhereunder has to be followed.
