JRS – natural fibers for optimum performance

• Soluble – water holding due to gel-like structure

– reduced intestinal passage rate

– reduced digestion of fat, protein, starch

– bind nutrients

– slow nutrient absorption

– increase digesta viscosity

– mainly fermentable parts

– reduces DM of faeces • production, sanitary problems

• Insoluble – water holding due to capillary effects

sponge-like-effect (ARBOCEL)

– structural fibre

– accumulate in the gizzard • regulates digesta passage

– accelerate intestinal passage

– improves starch/ protein digestibility

– stimulation of intestinal villi

– increase DM content of the faeces

- Ruminants in Proventriculus, Swine in large intestine and cecum

- Fermentation needs time !

- Sows are able to ferment the fiber – Energy source

- Piglets don´t have a developed microflora - fermentable fiber

are risky

- Poultry can ferment just small quantities of hihg soluble very

small particle sized fiber – in cecum (10%) – need just

insoluble fiber!
