Meet in the front lobby at the beginning of 3 rd period. We will leave promptly at 10:30. Your 3 rd and 5 th period teacher will know that you are on a field trip. You are responsible for any work you miss. Writers Eye Descriptive Writing *Descriptive writing offers a portrayal of a person, place, or thing, and gives the reader a more vivid experience. *General characteristics of descriptive writing include: *Elaborate use of sensory language; *Rich, vivid, and lively detail; *Figurative language such as simile, hyperbole, metaphor, symbolism, personification; *Showing, rather than telling through the use of active verbs and precise modifiers.
