Plain sine tables
5" (127mm) or 10" (254mm)Plain angles are set quickly and accuratelywith either of these tables. They permitmoving a complete setup to inspection orfor secondary operations on anothermachine and back to the Bridgeport withoutremoving the workpiece. Both tables are guaranteed to be flatand square within .001" (.025mm) andparallel within .002" (.05mm). Sine tablesare rigidly constructed with T-slots for%" (13mm) T-bolts or T-nuts, adjustableside supports, and hinge bolts for tighteningto assure stability.
Example. To set an 11% 0 angle with the10" (254mm) sine table, first find the sine ofan 111f2 0 angle which is .19937 . Multiply.19937 by 10. The result is 1.9937 .Use agage block of 1.9937 and place under sinebar of table. This gives a correct setting of11% o. (For the 5" table (127mm), multiplythe sine figure by 5.)

Rotary tablePermits turning workpiece in the horizontalposition precisely through degrees, minutesand seconds by means of manual controland computation.
Three optional rotary table accessories havebeen developed to provide greater flexibilityand ease of operation. Dividing attachmentconsists of a furnished chart and indexingdevice which allow rapid and accuratecomputation of indexing for degrees andminutes of workpiece rotation. The rightangle plate allows you to work in the vertical
• position. The tailstocksupports long werkpieces between centers for greater accuracy.Tables are of minimum heights - 41/2"(114mm) - to permit maximum daylight. They are available in 12" (305mm) and15" (381 mm) diameter models. Accuracy iswithin 30 seconds of arc through a completerotation of the table which is graduated bydegrees. An adjustable dial on the handwheel reads directly to each minute.A Vernier plate permits direct reading towithin 5 seconds.

Digital readoutThe Bridgeport position readout systemis a versatile 2 axis (X and Y) design with± .0005// (.01 mm) resolution. It consists oftwo transducer assemblies, one each forthe longitudinal axis and the cross axis, and a dual readout panel with a digitaldisplay for each axis. The system reads inmetrics and can be changed from metricto inches without loss of information.
Each transducer assembly contains aprecision scale, a lifetime solid state lightsource, and solid state solar cell sensors. These are all contained in a rugged sealedhousing which is simple to install, andvery tolerant of machine variations andmachine wear. A barrier seal effectivelyprotects against cast iron dust as well asliquid splatter or oil mist. The control unit mounts on the column andcontains the operator's keyboard and aseparate display for each axis. The axisdisplay shows the directional sign(+ or -). a decimal point and 6 digits. The gas discharge displays are the continuous segment type and are amber incolor for ease of reading and wide angleviewing.
