I thought it would be interesting to look at the many ways that Teenagers and young people are represented in film. There is the typical representation of American teenagers being very cliquey; with the popular and unpopular kids at school, going to parties etc. However, there is another representation which is a lot darker; showing teenagers as often having disturbed pasts, suffering with many troubles in their current lives, and even feeling suicidal. To look deeper into this I would research into the context a lot to see what may have been happening in reality to possibly inspire these films and what message they are trying to portray.
