When you come to designing your favourite characters you need to decide on details about their characters i.e. their “personality” this will help to “bring them to life” Add these annotations by the side of each character – see examples opposite.

Now the fun part is to begin drawing your design in SerifDraw. When creating your character think about layering up the design (just like when creating the dragon.) Do the face first then draw the body of the character.

Helpful Hints.• Draw the head first then begin adding the body.• Draw the body parts as separates as it’s easier to animate i.e. the body then the arm then the legs.• Use different angles when drawing your cartoon as it is easier to animate your character moving• Copy and paste sections i.e leg. It saves you time and effort. • Once you’ve finished place your drawings into portfolio ready to animate.• Save your work as you go along.if the computer crashes at least you won’t lose a days work.
