“I ALWAYS THOUGHT MY VOICE SOUNDED LIKE A MAN”

S amantha Hubbard, who is a 17 year student, well was a student. Her life took a complete U-turn, when her friend uploaded a video of her singing on YouTube.

sociology, religious studies, me-dia studies, and English litera-ture at Cadbury College. It’s her first year at college, and was accepting to get good grades for all of her 4 a-levels she was doing. Miss Hub also worked in a high street shop new look as a sales assistant too. She has never took part in any sing-ing com-petition, she was unaware that she had such a wonder-ful talent, until her friend for fun recorded her singing to Rihanna “What’s my name” and put on YouTube, the video got massive amount of hits.

“I always thought my voices sounded like a man, we were just having fun, singing to any random song, i didn’t even know that she was recording me, until i saw myself on YouTube. I was angry at her after i found out the

video was on their because to me i looked like a fool, i didn’t even notice the amount of ap-preciation i got from people, i can’t remember but i think it was erm.. about er.. 100,00 likes, i actually thank her now for putting that video up, because of her my life has changed com-pletely.”Sam Hubbard new album is

doing well in the chart, we is shocking as she is a new face and a solo artist, to hit the chart straight away also we no celeb-rity helping her, we wanted to know what know what she will do after her debut album. “Welllll.........I have been getting a few offers, some strange ones as well but I want to complete my A levels, I know I have just stepped in the music industry but people get success quickly

and failure also comes quickly, if you know what I mean. If I do end up staying in this industry I want to have something to fall back on if I start going downhill, at the moment, so far, every-thing going well but you never know, I want my A- levels.” She also said that her family are shocked too of the success she has got at the age she is at,

her par-ents were unaware of her talent, and her friends are shocked too. We also wanted to know if she will fol-

low the trend of having a stage name. “Nahhh......I like my name, I want people to know me by my own identity, my own name. I don’t have a problem with people who have a stage name I mean I like Lady Gaga, what is her real name actually, anyway how many Samantha Hubbard do you know that sing I’m the only piece and I’m unique, I like it that way, what do you think?”
