Nos complace en invitarlos al VI Congreso Mundial de Medicina Estética y Medicina Antienvejecimiento – AMWC-Latinoamérica, que se llevará a cabo en la ciudad de Medellín - Colombia en el Centro de Convenciones Plaza Mayor.

MANEJO ESTÉTICO DE LAS SECUELAS DE QUEMADURASLos efectos de las quemaduras en la cara y el cuerpo, generalmente están acompañados por alteraciones funcionales y por supuesto, quejas estéticas que pueden tener efectos importantes en la autoestima y la socialización del paciente quemado.

Hoy en día, la medicina moderna nos ofrece muchos recursos innovadores para tratar las secuelas funcionales y estéticas.

ESTHETIC MANAGEMENT OF SEQUELS OF BURNSThe effects of burns on the face and body, are usually accompanied by functional alterations and, of course, aesthetic complaints that can have important effects on the self-esteem and socialization of the burned patient.

Nowadays, modern medicine offers us many innovative resources, to treat functional and aesthetic sequelae.

In all cases, the management of functional sequelae must be prioritized through different reconstructive surgery techniques, but the management of aesthetic sequelae with a multidisciplinary approach to achieve not only physical but also psychological and social improvement is becoming increasingly important.

Currently, we have many therapeutic options for the aesthetic management of the sequelae of burns, all of them based on evidence-based medicine. Recently, great advances have been made with a combination of regenerative medicine techniques, different lipoinjection techniques, stem cells, cutaneous substitutes developed with tissue engineering or tissue banks, cell cultures, etc. As well as the use of medical devices based on energy, be it light (laser and IPL), different types of radiofrequency and ultrasound, and the increasing use of all the tools that esthetic medicine provides to this type of patients to achieve improve its aesthetic appearance, achieve confidence recovery and have an adequate social reintegration.
