With over 60 booths, 350 attendees and sales revenue of $10,000+ anticipated, the 3rd Annual “Boys in Business” Business Fair is the premier Financial Academy project for North Point students.

Our boys in all grades experience first-hand the entrepreneurial process, unite the local community and experience a marketplace as future businessmen. Over the course of several months, each student decides on their product or service, develops a brand and marketing strategy, and manufactures their product or service for the annual one-day “Boys in Business” Business Fair.

Businesses can be products or services, such as self-made handi-crafts, cards, clay miniatures, toys, fashion accessories, paintings, handmade soaps, creative games, face painting magic tricks, singing, playing an instrument……

On event day, students prepare their booths, display products or services and manage customer sales. Students keep the money they earn. Guest judges evaluate each business based on criteria such as booth presentation, interaction with customers, product knowlege and planning. We encourage all students to be creative, successful and profitable in their ventures.

North Point School for Boys is a K-Grade 9 independent day school in Calgary. North Point taps into the natural curiosity and energy of boys as a foundation for life-long learning. Personal Financial Education For All Ages

The Financial Academy at North Point is unique among Canada’s Elementary and Junior High schools. This state-of-the-art program teaches personal financial literacy, basic economics and entrepreneurship to students from Kindergar-ten to Grade 9 throughout the entire school year.

The Financial Academy content is closely aligned with Alberta Education curriculum for math and life-skill outcomes, and is aligned with the National Strategy for Financial Literacy “Count Me In Canada”.

On Financial Fridays, students learn grade-specific critical life-skills about:

• Budgeting, Savings & Investing• Income, Career Business & Entrepreneurship• Financial Psychology• Credit, Debt & Loans• Risk Management & Insurance

The “Boys in Business” Business Fair is organized and managed as part of the Finan-cial Academy curriculum.
