Types of Financial Aid
“Gift” Aid
• Money that does NOT have to be paid back.
Grants (Federal & State) – Money you do not have to pay back and usually based on merit and/or financial need.
Scholarships – Free Money for college and are usually based on your area of study or merit.

Expected Family Contribution
(EFC)
Based on the information that you provide...the FAFSA determines your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
A specific formula that most colleges , states and some scholarships use to figure out how much help you will need.
Determines how much money you and your family must contribute each year for your education
How do you APPLY for FAFSA?
STEP ONE: GATHER YOUR INFORMATION
Your Social Security Number & Parents’ Social Security Number.
Your driver's license (if any)
Your 2015 W-2 Forms and other records of money earned
Your Parents´ 2015 Federal Income Tax return (if you are a dependent student)
Your Alien Registration Number, if you are not a citizen.
Records of untaxed income…see brochure.

How To Log On: USERNAME
Capitalize the FIRST LETTER of your first name. Then capitalized the first letter of your last name
and then spell out your full last name, then add the last 4 digits of your 10 digit district ID number.

Temporary PASSWORD:

The first time you set up your username and password, it will ask you to then create your own
8 digit password. Pick something easy for you to remember!
Going into Chrome you will use your student gmail. [email protected]
Please remember your username and new password; you will need it every time you log on
to a computer!
