We take finding the toilet for granted yet we’ve all experienced the stress and anxiety of needing a toilet and not being able to locate one. When dementia is involved, the frustrations are multiplied many times over resulting in anxiety, challenging behaviour and possibly the loss of dignity.

Our solution is all about using highly visible, high contrast colour to establish a clear route to the toilet, and once there, to use the same principles to ‘decypher’ that environment by making the important things, grab rails and the toilet itself, easier to see. This boosts confidence and independence as well as helping to maintain or restore dignity.

Our strategy has been highly beneficial to thousands of people, helping them to find the toilet independently, use the toilet more easily and to reduce falls.

Corridors which look bland and featureless can be daunting for someone with dementia. Door-cals, signage, coloured door furniture and reminiscence images provide a wealth of opportunities to fill the environment with meaningful and distinctive symbols using colour and pictures to create themes and schemes full of landmarks where the important things make sense.

Please Note: we recommend you give serious consideration to the colour, quality and level of your lighting. This is often inadequate, yet good lighting is essential in all areas of the home. We are working on lightingsolutions that could transform your home and will be pleased to discuss your requirements.

Door-cal (n), a self adhesive, water proof, chemical resistant, laminated, fire-rated, hard wearing colour print which can be applied to a flat door in a few minutes giving the door the appearance of being a new, panelled door.


When choosing colours for Door-cals the most important element is for the fi nished door to contrast with the surrounding walls and door frames – bright colours are not always necessary. Door-cals create the appear-ance of a door to someones home and provide a low-cost way to add colour and theme to aid recognition. The Door-cal is fi re-rated and laminated and is resilient to impact and chemical cleaning products.

Nutrition and hydration are vitally important to everyone’s health and meal times provide an opportunity for interaction too. People often withdraw from this daily routine as they have difficulty eating and manipulating food resulting in frustration and indignity.

The find® orientation board is constructed in the same robust style as our standard range of signage. The Orientation board features a working clock with a German electronic movement and a full set of cards for the day, date and weather. There is a further section “Today is...” where you can add information about special events. The Orientation board is secured with four keyhole fixings in the reverse.Size: 900 x 700mm

The find® Weekly Activity board is also constructed in the same robust materials as our standard sign products and provides for a colourful, durable dry-wipe board which will inform residents of events scheduled for the week ahead. Size: 1200x770mm

Help at HomeThis new signage range from find® is designed for people dealing with dementia in their own home. This durable product has the key features of find® signs which have proved so effective in the care home environment. This product is self-adhesive and only 1mm thick. Applied to a door or wall this sign will be effective in helping people to orientate themselves. The sign has a wipe clean, chemical, bacterial and fungal resistant, non-reflective surface. The small orientation board is a simple, dry-wipe aid for recording important pieces of information and things that need to be remembered such as a doctor’s appointment or when a visitor might be expected. Constructed in our robust materials, the board provides a ‘secure’ location to keep information on hand such as address, phone number, doctors number etc. There’s a dry-wipe area to record other information. Uniquely, the dry-wipe area is protected by a clear cover which provides a second dry-wipe surface. Finally, a full set of card inserts is provided for the day/date/month section and a starter pack of dry-wipe pens is included. Size: 600 x 420mm

It can be difficult to recall where things are when they are kept inside a cupboard or drawer. To ease this problem we have created a collection of labels illustrating what is kept in the drawer or cupboard.

There are larger labels for cupboards and wardrobes and a smaller size relating to things which are typically kept in drawers. As always, our principles of bold, clear, specific type and good quality photo-realistic images have been maintained.
