Life-Changing Fact:
Indian Hills is one of the few community colleges in Iowa with an
on-campus student health center staffed by an Advanced Registered
Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). Office visits are free for students. Certain
laboratory tests, vaccinations or medical supplies may involve a
minimal fee.
Dining Options
You’ll find a wide variety of dining options at Indian Hills:
• Hills Diner, Hills Coffee Shop and Warrior Junction on the Ottumwa campus
• Airport Café on the North Campus
• Centerville Student Union
• Snack areas throughout both campuses for stu-dents who want to grab a quick bite between classes or pick up a late-night snack
• The Studio, which offers a unique luncheon dining experience prepared and served by Indian Hills Culinary Arts students on the Ottumwa campus
If you live on campus, you’ll sign up for a meal plan that is good for dining at all on-campus locations – no worries about cooking for you!
Indian Hills sponsors more than 40 student clubs and organizations geared to a variety of interests and academic programs. You’ll find opportunities for scholarships, leader-ship, service and fun.

Indian Hills offers a life-changing residential experience. At Indian Hills, you can have the best of both worlds, living on campus while saving money on your education.
On-campus living at Indian Hills offers:
• One-person and two-person rooms
• Apartment-style units for up to five residents
• Air-conditioning, laundry, wireless Internet, cable TV and phone service – all included in your room fee

Choosing Indian Hills is the first step to a low-cost education that will yield high returns.
Indian Hills offers one of the lowest tuition rates in Iowa.
You may be able to reduce these costs even further with
grants, scholarships, work-study programs and/or loans.
Additional financial aid may be available by submitting
the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The Financial Aid Office will help you find the assistance
you need to further your education and change your life.
Foundation Scholarships
• The Indian Hills Community College Foundation awards
more than 500 scholarships each year, ranging from
$600 to full tuition for a single year. Selections are based
on academic qualifications and other demonstrated
qualities and needs.
• Actor and Indian Hills alumnus Tom Arnold awards two
scholarships each year that cover tuition, fees, required
books and supply costs for one year. If recipients live on
campus, the award also covers basic room and board for
one year.
Military-Friendly
• Since 2009, G.I. Jobs has included Indian Hills on its
list of Military Friendly Schools, based on the college’s
academic programs and reputation, as well as its support
to student veterans.
• Indian Hills serves military veterans as well as
active-duty military personnel, members of the National
Guard, reservists and other persons eligible for Veterans
Administration education benefits.
Work Study
• Students may be eligible for work study as part of their
financial aid award. A student must have a FAFSA on file
in order to be considered for work study opportunities.
• Work study positions are available on the Ottumwa and
Centerville and North campuses.
• Work study jobs are limited to a maximum of
20 hours per week.
• Work study students are paid twice a month and may
use their earnings to reduce the balance on their student
account.

• Men’s and women’s cross country
• Men’s and women’s track and field
• Men’s and women’s soccer
• Men’s basketball
• Women’s volleyball
• Men’s baseball
• Women’s softball
• Men’s golf
IHCC teams regularly contend for regional and national championships in the
Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and the National Junior
College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
• Three consecutive national basketball championships,
an NJCAA record
• National men’s golf championships in 2000, 2011, 2012,
2014 and 2015
Student-athletes are also successful in the classroom, earning:
• Individual NJCAA Academic Achievement Awards
• Recognition as NJCAA All-Academic Teams
Intramurals Intramural competition is open to all Indian Hills students. Activities are
geared to student interests and include flag football, basketball and dodge ball.

Students travel off campus to experience arts and culture in major cities through annual trips sponsored by the Fine Arts Department. Activities include musicals and plays, and visits to museums, galleries and historic sites. These trips also offer academic credit for interested students.

Continue your interest in music and the arts at Indian Hills.
Music groups frequently perform in St. John Auditorium, one of the area’s finest performance facilities, and in conjunction with other college and community events. Groups include:
• IHCC Chorus
• Chamber Choir
• Indian Hills Jazz Band
Theatrical productions are open to all students and offer opportunities on stage and behind the scenes.
The IHCC Art Gallery showcases the work of students and faculty and features exhibits by local, national and internationally recognized artists.
Indian Hills schedules more than 40 performing and visual arts events each year. Nearly all of these events are free and open to the public.
The college also hosts poetry readings that feature student and faculty work, and publishes selected student work in Hills Review: The Journal of Student Poetry.
