MARC ARONSONAuthor, editor, publisher, and speaker Marc Aronson believes passionately in the power of great nonfiction for children. He has written history and biography books for middle school children and young adults; his biography of Sir Walter Ralegh (Sir Walter Ralegh and the Quest for El Dorado) won the ALA’s first Robert L. Sibert Information Book Award for nonfiction and the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award. Dr. Aronson is a lecturer at the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University.

KRISTIN FONTICHIAROKristin teaches at the University of Michigan School of Information. She is the editor of Navigating the Information Tsunami: Engaging Research Projects that Meet the Common Core State Standards, K-5 (Cherry Lake, June 2012) and Growing Schools: Librarians as Professional Developers (with Debbie Abilock and Violet H. Harada, Libraries Unlimited, June 2012), as well as the new Makers as Innovators informational text series for Cherry Lake Publishing. She is the author of several books for educators, librarians, and children on issues of digital and information literacy.

ELAINE FULTZElaine is currently the Teen Specialist at Dayton Metro Library in Dayton, OH.   She was an elementary and middle school librarian for 14 years.  She has been a presenter at many teacher professional development sessions and library conferences including AASL and YALSA.  With her background in both school and public libraries, Elaine is able to communicate with educators, parents, and public library staff about the challenges and opportunities the Common Core standards bring to all sides.

DEBORAH HOPKINSONDeborah is the author of more than 40 books for young readers including picture books, short fiction, and nonfiction.  Her nonfiction book, Titanic: Voices from the Disaster was a 2013 Sibert Honor and finalist for the YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction award. Her historical fiction picture books often illuminate the lives of ordinary people or forgotten figures in history. A frequent speaker in schools and conferences, she works to help bring history alive for her readers. Her most recent book, The Great Trouble, has received a starred review from Publishers Weekly. Deborah serves as VP for Advancement for Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, OR.
