Week 7: July 23-27 Parade of Music Create and play musical instruments out of everyday household items. Children will end the week with a delightful parade of music through the school & grounds. Week 8: July 30-Aug 3 Fine Feathered Friends Observe the magic, hear their songs and make a beautiful home for birds. Children may make a feathered friend and a birdhouse during this week of Summer Garden. Week 9: Aug 6-10 Fun Unearthed Turn over that rock, dig a little deeper and experience the secrets that lie beneath the surface of the earth! Week 10: Aug 13-17 Happy Harvest Reap what has been sown earlier in the season! Harvesters will dig and cut and fill their baskets. Then it’s time to taste the fruits of their labors. Prairie Hill Waldorf School Summer Garden provides healthy and wholesome fun interspersed with practical, nourishing activities for children ages 3 to 7.

Join our experienced Early Childhood teachers and their enthusiastic staff for fun in the sun, joyful play and creating!  Participants will enjoy fun themes for each week. Cultivate your child’s inherent connection to nature and enliven a sense of wonder!

amp Don’t miss these magical adventures;

choose from ten weeks of summer fun!

Week 1: June 4-8 Grow Garden Grow Enjoy working in the beautiful gardens around Prairie Hill. Our little 'Gardeners' may make bouquets, work with the vegetables, and enjoy tending Mother Nature in all her Summer Glory!   Week 2: June 11-15 Bugs & Butterflies They are everywhere we look, and look we will!  Children may explore and discover the beauty of bugs and butterflies while making crafts inspired by this fun theme.   Week 3: June 18-22 Fairy Tales Build castles in the sand and in the woods, hunt dragons on the prairie and pretend to be prince or princess in a high tower!  Children may create crowns or stick swords and fabulous memories.   Week 4: June 25-29 Friendly Frogs Children will hunt for our hopping green friends, search for their homes and observe the many types of toadstools hiding in the woods and more.

Week 5: July 9-13 Magical Forest Meander through the enchanting trails to find fairies, gnome holes and other magical forest friends. Children may build tiny homes and gardens, create wands, wood gnomes and enjoy the wonder of their rich imaginations.   Week 6: July 16-20 Mythical Creatures Magical, mythical creatures abound in these uncharted territories. Children may listen to fairy tales, create fun dragon tails and unicorn horns and revel in the joy of summer fun.  

At Prairie Hill Summer Garden, your child will experience:

• Activities that delight children • Skill building • Creative play • Nature exploration • Music and movement • Artistic and practical activities • Consistent rhythm

Snacks: Daily snacks will be provided; children may have the opportunity to help prepare them. Lunch: Please pack a healthy lunch for your child for both half day and full day participants.

Full days: $225 per week 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Half days: $180 per week 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

! Multiple Week Discount: Register with payment for two or more weeks and receive a 10% discount. Cancellation: Cancellations of less than a 14 day notice will incur a $50 per week charge.

! Before Camp Care: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

$30 per week After Camp Care: 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

$30 per week!

As with all PHWS programs, children need to be able to follow instructions within a group setting. All Summer Gardeners must be daytime potty trained.
